You mean it is great for party promoters somewhere in LALA land, far away from my location, and they love to invite for their small parties everyone, my last invitation came from Tel Aviv, I mean wtf. why would I go to Israel to Tel Aviv for Spice Melange? give me a break... and they first requested my friendship, then came daily spam, I told them please stop, the Marina bitch no stop, then I wrote on their page, to please stop, and if they want me to come there they can book me, pay for airfare and give money but please$, no fucking Shekel, and then after terminating the friendship with dat beatch I finally left in peace...
apart from things such as this Facebook is indeed good for advertising, and it helped me to reconnect with people around this globe... it is however highly addictive... also... first someone add you, then they spam you and your timeline and page with all kinds of crap... when they are nice people I consider leaving it on my timeline, but often it is just a bad track or someone who knows not enough about sound design and wants to be next Astrix.

Don't find it addictive at all.
Good for keeping in touch with remote friends (real ones, not the FB kind). Useless for having any kind of meaningful conversation. Great for sharing trip photos and an occasional "Hey, I am still alive".
I know some people that have it open 24/7 and have over 400 "friends". Whatever... If one really had 400 friends, he/she would not need Facebook  |

Facebook is good only to promote and keep in touch with buddies who live several thousand miles away from you!
But that doesn't mean you should spend 6 hours a day talking to them.
