the only thing that differs from the original (hardware) units would have to be the missing analog input stage, right? as everything else is dsp based software processing anyway, even in the hardware units.
i do have the powercore and the virus b for it and it sounds pretty much the same as the original hardware unit even with missing analog stages. dunno about the eventide stuff but i am quite sure it will be the tits as well and very very close
how do the lexicon native versions compare to the hardware versions ?? anybody here with comparison possibilities?
very much looking forward to that for sure

I had 3 (4 but the ZOOM was so shite, it don't count), hardware effects units. Two Lexicons (MPX-100, MPX-1) and an Eventide Eclipse.
While I am sure the Lexicon PCM plug in sounds better than the MPX-1, I can't speak for the actual PCM 81 that I was using a lot in a live venue I worked as a sound engineer, cause I only heard the unit in a live venue.
In any case the PCM plugs have the lush Lexicon sound. But having said that, the Space Designer is really good as well and you get that free with Logic.
Peace out.

i guess you regret to not have the eclipse anymore, a friend had one and told me he still regret he sold it
i tried the lex plugin and they didn t wowed me like the hardware (that blow me away specially cause it feel extented in term of bandwich/dynamic. the low were amazing when sending a kick into the reverb for that big fx sound for example but it could be totally placebo, its just a first impresion i m not familiar with both)
about the h3000 the output stage may color well the sound and i think it s a reason why ppl love it, but i think this could maybe be a plus to not have this, for a more pristine sound as the h3000 sound is more "grungy" than newer eventide from what i have read.(but it s a chrarm of the unit but not sure it s well suited when after pristine hifi sound..) |

could be, probably, but speaking for my self, I would rather have the algorithms (and the editability of the GUI) in software and use the extra cash to buy a nice pre amp.
Peace out.
