mmm i see that one. and it is good that they (beatport) market your music and your label...you deserve all the attention you can get. we are all aware that people download music instead of paying for it.. this hurts everyone who is in the music business, obviously.

here is what i am "in doubt" over. if you released some of that unmixed material from your new cd for free on your website, do you think it would hurt your CD sales? i don't know myself to be honest. i don't even know if it would hurt your digital download purchases.. since people who get it from your site might be interested in the mixed version if they like what they hear.

anyhow, i apologize if my very first post sounded harsh evan.. your releases are most beautiful both soundwise and it's hand-sewn finish. i guess i just felt, at the moment, that the amount of options and variations for purchasing your music became a tad too much.           www.xerxes-music.com

Anyone who purchases the CD from the Somnia website is free to e-mail me and I will make unmixed files available for download.

Now that's the best compromise there could be. Nice gesture Evan.

This isn't a Bluetech album, I don't believe. Unfortunately.

I had to snap this one up straight away, those samples sounded so delicious - who could pass up the oppurtunity to tune in to Steve Hillage and Mr. Bluetech forming sounds of lovliness?? Incidentally I went for the digital release - couldn't wait for the mail man, but heads up to Evan for offering unmixed WAV's for those that went for the cd. First few times I listened to this I fell asleep, just couldn't get past the alpha rhythmns !! But if you really allow yourself to be taken on a journey you will find you are somewhere else...
It is quite refereshing that there was no hype sorrounding this release, all of a sudden we find a new album full of great sounds - no bullshit.
If you want some of the best progressive / dub/ ambient beats out there then you should give this a listen , I'll expect to be hearing this out at the summer festivals this summer.

This is one of my favorite releases for some time. Unlike some "mixed" cds, where there is a mix between tracks just for the sake of not having silence, this is a real journey. It reminds me of listening to the Dub Trees, Kumba Mela Project, Celtic Cross, Hallucinogen in Dub albums. The sounds are beautiful and full of emotion. However, there is also plenty of interesting manipulation going on. (There are some familiar "bluetech" elements imo)

The packaging is top notch as well-it really creates a different feeling to receive a package with the human touch. The effort that went into it is very apparent, and is part of the reason why this is one of my favorite music purchases.

Big respect to Evan and Steve Hillage.

As a tangent, I hope that there will eventually be an album that incorporates Evan's various projects into one continuous mix, spanning ambient, dub-techno, and psy/idm. Just a thought, of course Evan knows best what to do with his musical skills.

This album is just wonderful. Delicious ambi-dub-tech meets ethereal guitar scapes... that is a combination that is tough to beat. Do yourself a favor and get the CD from Somnia. The packaging and mixed disc are worth every penny and then some.
