"Following the first success, anybody who imagined that Entheogenic would go commercial, was very wrong. Our new album “Spontaneous Illumination” is more psychedelic."

B R A V O !!!!!

Why? Is it bad to be commercial? It's not surprising that the PSy world is and stay underground with these kinds of silly affirmations...

For me, being commercial means making music TO earn money before anything else, and loosing one's own personality to try to seduce as more people as possible...
BTW it is not my affirmation, it is quoted in the interview... and i agree with it ! I hope that when U finish a track the first thing u think about is your own pleasure and not its possible financial impact..

I have nothing against music that sells.... I have anything against music that is made to sell !!

But okay perhaps my interpretation of the word was not the correct one... then in this case i'm sorry for it..

Hey Kakoo, I didn't say you are silly!
And your point of view about commercial music is exactly the same as mine, when you write: "I have nothing against music that sells.... I have anything against music that is made to sell !!"
It's just I can't understand that one artist is proud to say his music isn't or won't be commercial, because
1) make good commercial music is very hard,
and I think that most artist who criticize it are unable to release it. With or without money as an objective. That's all.

2)Even if I like Entheogenic, it was a little predictable that they wouldn't make an ersatz of Vangelis, Moby or J.M Jarre for their second album.

So I think this point of view is off topic in their interview (nevertheless very interesting).

But Kakoo, you can admit that is possible to make music for the most people possible
without loosing its soul, I hope? There are huge artists on this planet that sold millions albums and aren't just good for dustbin!

Oups I was a bit tired when i read your words yesterday... I've been driving a lot and just got back home !

I'm quite with You when You write that criticizing artists are unable to sell a lot themselves... it is a bit easy going !
BTW now that you've told me a bit more about what you meant, yes I think that you are right...

Of course I admit that authenticity and success can walk together..... and I am daily listening to such artists !!!! One of my best exemple I think is Morcheeba... The admiring point is that she sells because of the quality of her work, and not because of Huge Mediatised Promotional Campaign..... and album after album... she remains experiencing fusions of genre, meeting of artists, etc etc...
Music pours in her Veins and not in her bank account.

There are many many others exemples !!

Take care & have a nice week !           .
