A deep phat compilation for the depth of the night...

ENCODER - Neurobiotic records

1. Molecular vs Auspexx - Winds of War
2. Yotopia - Go
3. Lemurians - Olodrum
4. Mekkanika - Mentally What
5. Altom - Your Ambition is to Get High
6. Pixel & Sub6 - One Shot
7. Lemurians - Some Strange Days
8. Sesto Santo - Clockwork
9. Vibra - Crystalis

A powerful CD, compiled by Edoardo, needs a very loud system and preferably a dancefloor near. Quite psychedelic in places but mainly its the hard kicks and basslines that bring a smile to my face- I'll be playing this for a good while. The opening track gives me the shivers, sweeping lush synths with a hypnotic drive of a kick...sweet. Other pinnacles of perfection: Pixel & Sub6 (!), Yotopia, Mekkanika, Altom, Lemurians track 7.
The Sesto track is a bit too old-sounding for me, think I'm getting bored of that bassline. Yotopias' 'Go' is one of the best trax on here, shame about the cheesy 'Go!' sample - reminds me of early happy hardcore. The Vibra track is a percussive, techy, hi - energy closer to the CD. The compilation also impresses with its production and sound quality, very maximised and punchy!

A very strong release from Rome's Neurobiotic - definitely worth a listen if you like your trance a bit darker, deeper but still playful enough to shake dat azz.

8/10

More in-depth reviews welcome...

nice compil indeed , but very poor sound production most of the tracks !

molecular vs auspexx - Winds Of War , nice track , I like the wolf yells. good for night.

pixel & sub6 , keep it on guys !
very good track . (sounds like atomic and the others , but very good)

Lemurians - olodrum , I like what comes in the middle of the track with the african drums , and nice goa lines .

mekkanika- mentally what , crazy lines , but the bad mix grave it , it could be much better if the mix would be good.

altom - Your Ambition Is To Get High , nice rhythms , but again something is bad in the production of the bass (strident !)

Yotopia - non changes , a bit boring.. , kind of standard track.

sesto - way to go guys , nice track here , I like !
VIBRA - CRYTALIS- the track of this cmpil , not killasses , but this is not like all the others that get themself into the standards like "alien project...".

overall , nice compil - standard... with few goods and few bads , non reall killasses.
anyway i like it .

mark 8/10

very original copy!
I think I'm one of the most trance fans who buy the most original CDs.

wanna mess with me about sound quality!

tested on my party sound system and home sound system also!
after you came against my judgement, I checked it again on another sound system in my salon.

I still stand for the same opinion , most of the tracks have poor quality !

I have a lot experience of sound as a DJ and as psytrance fan , lots of years and as original CDs buyer (if it matter for u).

make your conclusions , and I still stand for Neurobiotic.

grow to be of my favorite lables , I'm sure their future releases gonna be quality killasses much more than this !

I make my conclusions, dont worry. As a sound engineer working in a 5.1 suite, with spectral analyzer and TC finalizer to check maximisation, I stand by my word: I reckon the CD packs a punch, except for the last track, Vibra, which sounds muddier. I think some of the sounds, like the claps on track 1 before the synths kick in, are 'cheap-sounding' but the overall mastering is still spot on.
But then its been a while since I've had earcleaning done on Anjuna beach.

Cheers to all,
The wolf sample is actualy the high-pitched scream also featured in the middle of the track (in one of the breakes) - only on a very low key on the piano roll...

A little secret from the studio: the claps are original Fruity sounds, and it doesnt make them cheaper so...

very nice compilation indeed,
