Well I finally got to hear this CD. And even before i got to hear it, just from the package I could tell it was something different from other CD`s.
It has a Japanese taste to it, which i think homsy has explained in a different thread. It is something different from all the CD`s that have been released recently. You can see the effort and hard work that has been put into the creation of this CD.
1.Intro Ambrosia
This track is the intro to the story this cd tells. It is in japanese so it will be hard for many to understand but there is a translation in the inside cover so no worries. this leads to the next track which mixes in perfectly.
2.Perplex- Empty Hand
A nice opener, for this comp. starts off with a soft melodic beat, but in the middle changes into a more proggy track. very nice to open with.
3.Molecular-Waking Up
Very nice track Molecular team!!! I think the best part of my day today was Jerking off, for sure!!!!
A good proggy track with no waste of sounds, clean and tightly finished.
4. Misted Muppets- Goju
This track at first seems like a proggy track, but after a few minutes, it takes a complete diffrent turn and brings in a soothing melody, sort of reminds me of a foggy morining in China(the ones you see in the movies).
5. Side Effect- Kata
This track reminds me of the old Israeli style of trance, but with a strange new twist. It has some spacey sounds and melodies. Good to listen to in the middle of the night.
6.Alo Malo and Vortex- Distorted Reality
This track just kicks off right from the beggining with a grinding bass. The guitar is used beautifully in this track. A very melodic track.
7. Misted Muppets-Human Beings
This track is a fast track, very close to niztchonot. It has a old school taste, with new sounds.
8. Maze-Ganymed
This track has a killer Bass line. which i cannot explain in words. a very good proggy type of track.

9. Evil Drug Lords- The more things change the more they stay the same
I have been waiting 2 YEARS to listen to a EDL track. I have finally gotten to listen to their track.
I am very pleased, its a very proggy track. A perfect title for this track. It feels like it takes you to the toilet of a party where you can just hear some noises, then as soon as you open the door, BOOM! You`ll get what i am saying when you hear it.

10.Maze- The Fianl Ki-ay
This is the last track of this comp. A nice dub ambient type of track with a Asian twist. A beautiful way to end this story!!!

Over all I rate this Comp. 10/10. Although there are a few tracks which are not in my taste, i give this Comp. a 10 for its idea and story. It is something very different, special and unique.
Well this is my first review, dont go so harsh on me.

the reason it is different is because a lot of work has been made on the concept of it (homsy). u probablt noticed that the comp. is including all the sub-ganres that excists in trance today. all made by israeli artists!

This is a VERY good disc.
Got it today, now I'm finishing my first thorough listen. It sits real well together, good work all through it.
Full review tomorrow.
But just a quick advice: grab this one. Definitly worth the money.           the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....

VA - Empty Hand (Trancelucent, May 2002)

1. Intro Ambrosia 0:46
2. Perplex – Empty Hand 7:00
3. Molecular – Waking Up 7:14
4. Misted Muppets – Go Ju 8:13
5. Side Effect – Kata 8:23
6. Alo Malo & Vortex – Distorted Reality 7:28
7. Misted Muppets – Human Beings 6:36
8. Maze – Ganymed 6:50
9. Evil Drug Lords – The more things change… 9:54
10. Maze – The Final Ki-ay 14:02

This is Trancelucent’s first compilation, after the releases of two Perplex’ albums. Homsy, label manager, is Japanese-born, and created a disc with a very original concept, including japanese sentences spoken in between tracks, sentences full of wisdom and beautiful meanings.

As for the music, it is a blend of most things new in the Israeli scene these days. Full of new and sometimes refreshing artists, showcasing an array of skills in varied styles such as full on, progressive and downtempo chill music. So, besides being a very well-conceived, carefully built package, it is also a stage for introducting new talent, which will, hopefully, grow bigger in the next times.

It starts with a short and soothing intro by Ambrosia, which is just the right beginning for everything to come…it’s like a build-up for the beginning of Ronen Dahan’s Empty Hand, which gives us a morning blissful sound, good groovy bass, kinda progressive but with a full on vibe, much like his previous works. Great on open air dancefloors definitely. Next up the duo Molecular, our good friend Arie and Yants here, with one of the best samples ever, funny as hell, and a different sound from their previous releases, not as clubby, a little faster, lots of melodic lines, very few sound layers, which sit very tight together. All in all a nice track, I miss some of the Feel the Heat groove, but it works just fine. After that we got the first of two Misted Muppets works, and we’re reading into full on territory, dancefloor material. More nightish, driving bass, nice sound games, but it fails to really get me going, it seems to me the story got lost midway through it. Next up is Side Effect, a slower track than the previous one, it just feels very emotional, great soundwork. The sample works nicely and there’s a good groove in it. Some synth lines are a little old-school sounding, but it sounds real good all in all. Then we got Alo Malo – who helped compile the disc – together with Vortex, powerful sounds, 3D Vision-styled bass, and lots of powerful guitar riffs in the middle of it. Well executed, this will probably rock a lot of brazilian dancefloors, though it’s not really my cup of chai. The we got the Muppets back on, same style as their previous track, nightish, driving bass, but imo this one works better, its more tightly knit. As in Alo Malo’s track, I think bassline is very 3D-like, which is just fine by me, and a very good synth work, nice uplifting track, including children voice samples which are very well used, loved them. Then we got Maze, making his first of two appearances here, with another power track, though a little slower than the previous two. Very neat soundgames, trippy – feeds your brain really nice. The atmosphere is mostly nightish, but it makes for a good transition to the morning, which is what we get with Evil Drug Lords (damn I love that name) and their ‘The more things change the more they stay the same’. My absolute favorite here, a progressive track with a full on vibe, A-level dancefloor material, puts a smile on my face and makes me dance from beginning to end. Nothing left to say: a real gem. All layers are in the right place, just the right amount of groove to get your hips moving. And after that we need some chill, and Maze provides just that with an airy piece, very nice sounding though beatless for a good part. The right amount of relaxation to close things up.

Conclusion: great work by Trancelucent. Varied music, but all with a underlying story, which works real good. Some very good dancefloor tracks, look out for more from these acts. Favorites: 9 (!), 2, 3, 5.

You are not serious. This is one of the worst releases I've heard in a very very long time, everything is good (mastering, cover desing...) except for the music. what is the meaning of this (not even) mediocre CD, I havent figured out yet, and its a shame, since 2 of my friends tracks are there, and its not a big compliment for them (3 & 9). I hope (and wish) that the next Trancelucent release would proove better taste and maybe a bit more mature & ready material.

good luck (I mean it)

(and BTW, dont start critisizing this reply, as u know, its all about taste)

hey Helen, next time we'll put some monotonic tracks in a minimal atmosphere with no connection to the word music so it will be less childish....
