Short introduction:

Igal Magitman and Roman Brisker are Elec3, from Israel.
They have been releasing serious tracks in labels such as Turbo Trance, Psy-Tropic, Utopia, Spliff, among many others. Their style is defined as a sort of Progressive Full-on, varying from 130 to 145 BPM. Now with their debut, on Turbo Trance.

Let’s take a better look at the album.

Track#1: Elec3 - Plugged [138 BPM]

Starts up with a kicking synth. Smooth introduction, rising up slowly, in a progressive touch. Groovy track, with a nice bass line, very high kicks, and a nice voice sample. I found it nice, gave the CD a good opening. Groovy baby! Very clean sound. Not too many stuff to listen to.

Track#2:

Elec3 - Open Doors [140 BPM]

This track is a bit more heavy IMO. Dark touches. At least at the first beginning. After the first break, it gets groovy, also kicking high, with many nice tunes. That clean style seems to be kept on. That’s good. Just letting the groove bounce… In the last minuts, some scratching synths, than breaks, and keep on grooving. Good track.

Track#3: Elec3 - Nubus [143 BPM]

Starts very cool. Some keyboard sounds, sort of letting in the bass line. I found that very nice. This really got my attention. I’m very fun of this Groove Full-on, with a bit of progressive touches. As I said before, the track has a clean sound. Perfect for a sunny morning or afternoon. Dance floor track… will rock any party!

Track#4: Elec3 - Realizm [140 BPM]

This track kept really calm to the first entire minute. I just found all the bass lines similar to each other. Maybe a lack of creativity. But I was wrong. Suddenly, the track changes its way, and gets very groovy. I can’t deny that all track are very much similar. But they all have something to pay attention to. And I assure u, it will not disappoint. Some voice samples. The normal, but very good old formula.

Track#5: Elec3 - Pnp [145 BPM]

Killer bass line. Pumping up kicks. This track’s bass lines, changes its tunes very nicely. I wondered myself if that would stay for the entire track. And it did. Groooooooovy as hell, this track reaaaaly got my attention also. Wow! What an atmosphere. Great track for the dance floor, and a must have of morning listeners. It’s not that unique style. Suddenly, it changes, without loosing control. Not getting boring. The best one so far. Very good track. High quality production.

Track#6: Elec3 - Noise Therapy [145 BPM]

Starts a bit funky. Again that killer bass line. The synths working very nicely. This track also has great atmosphere, and dance floor orientation. Will burn any party. Groove groove and more groove. As high as it can get. Wow. Such a happy track. Many smiles will come after that. Mine did!!

Track#7: Elec3 - Chaplog [142 BPM]

This track I founded a bit normal. The same old formula, nothing really grabbed my attention. Except the groove, and the vocal sample. I just couldn’t tell if it really was a sample, or live vocals. At first I thought… After the first 3 minutes, it gets spicy. Kicking high, and without that marvelous groove. Nice. Really improved the track. Really good track also. Besides the regular beginning.

Track#8: Elec3 - Orchid Extract [135 BPM]

This starts funky, very calmly. Some very relaxing tunes, just entering the track. Now it got to a progressive ending. I liked that tactic. To start a bit progressive, speeds up, and finish with progressive also (the album I mean). Regular track. Not trying to compare to Ace Ventura, but it sort of reminded me. That progressive track, with a touch of morning full-on… very nice!

Track#9: Elec3 - Unplugged [130 BPM]

Definitely a closing track. Now this is what a call a good sort of Tribal Prog. Very nice. Some kind of mixture between Prog and Electro for me. Very nice way to end a CD. Great track. The voice samples are great. Very well developed bass line.

Short Overall:

The album is good. I didn’t find it marvelous, but at least it grabbed my attention, and I found it worth it to do a proper review (btw, I only like to review the stuff I really like. Don’t know if that’s good or bad.) Anyway, the album starts nicely, speeds up, and finishes brilliantly. Really enjoyed the album. For full-on and prog listeners, go a head. No regrets…

Favorites: 3, 4(!!), 5, 6 and 9(!)

Regards…

It

I heard various tracks from Elec3 on loads of compilaton, so when i got the album i was very exited
And it fully lived up to my expertations,
First track Plugged is a killah start track with nice progressive hang to it but still like the rest of the tracks powered with energi, ofc. my favorite track is Noise Therapy which well when it hits climaXX its just exstatic. Really love the quality of the album every track is unique in its own way and the sound quality is really really super!

I hate to say this but for me 'Plug and Play' is another album that i didn't like by an artist i previously liked a lot.

Usually when you see a compilation with a track by Elec3 you can be pretty much sure it's going to be one of the best on the album... if not the best... so i was really expecting a LOT from this! Sadly, i was seriously disappointed.

Sorry, but this joins Ananda Shake's last effort in my Nice artist... shame about the album cupboard.

Respect... but no cigar.

Peace.

Btw... nice first posts guys! *cough*

... not that i'm suggesting anything of course!

Yep... ELect 3 are good... and they do a good deal on Citroën.

very solid production in the basslines etc - but the lack of variation in synths used and lack on any interesting melodies makes this a very boring album IMHO - but good work anyways

I was very surprised from this album ,since i didnt thought guys will move into this style and elec3 to sound like this , my favortie is PnP , rulling on album 100 % , the rest once are pretty good as well , but also missing some reallyt smashing melodie and compsings in some of them !! Some reminds me on old good solid wizzy noise ,which was shaking the floors for a while....guys have killer progressive project and i am sure with combining little bit more Elec3 style with Brisker and Magitman ...the new tunes should be big bombs all over the world !
My final grade ......6/10 !

keep blasting guys !
