once i was at a party where skazi was performing live for the first time in where i live.
The organisers had set up a beautifull stage on an open air garden...The police came and they forced the whole thing to move indoors. After 3 hours everything was moved in to the club (stage, sound system etc...Ppl were pretty much upset already.

Although the party started and the mood was rising higher and higher. When B-bass and Asher got their place on the stage and were ready to start their live act this siren passed through our ears...every one was starting look at eachother frightened and confused...And then the sample came out of the speakers...."THIS IS THE POLICE! THIS PARTY IS RAVE AND YOU ARE ALL BUSTED!!!

And then again the storm begun! The beats and the guitars spreded the vibe, and a total delirious crowd was jumping up the ceiling. So it was a happy end afterall. But the siren...it is f**ng disturbing reaching the limits of freaking out as you said.

In Sola Luna festival 2001 I freak out when somebody do it when the music is stop and we try to calm little bit after the dance under the sun.

Now I just find it funny when I see the others freak out around me.

i kinda like that "sound"... living in a big city makes the sirene to a kinda "normal stuff" sound to me... its like music in my ears, if u get my point... liked it very much, when space tribe used the german police sirene in a live-act on liquid time festival... very nice effect on many ppl on the floor
...and eskimo - party pooper is one of the best voicesamples ever heard... makes me

Driving in New York city shpongled out of your mind and hearing the cop siren has not been a pleasent experience for me. I mean i don't bug out and get paranoid, but i feel ugly When you combine that with all the movement there and the yellow cones with fluorescent patches on them, it creates a vortex of trippyness and it's reallty fun when somebody else is driving

There is a Penta track with a police siren in it and i heard this at a party once and most of the people...MOST of the people had a funny reaction to it. For a second, a good part of the dancefloor freezes and there are looks exchanged here and there, and when people assure themselves that they are in a safe harbour, they continue to party

word, same as me, only i see myself dropping a little touch of those ice-drops in their coffee. and some for their doughnut too, why not eh?

then i see myself playing that siren-sucker for them all night long.

no wait. for a few minutes.

then put on some ott to make them realize how much they need a joint and some peace in their lives.

bom.

I've been able to laugh at myself for becoming startled or worse but I do not prefer this sound at all. Cultivates paranoia... The first time I heard "the cops are here" sample it froze me. A few months ago at a beach party the cops really did show up and people were saying the words but it was not registering.. I think I incorporated their words into the music... I'm thinking "fuck these samples, they're such a buzz kill" (*swigs tequila*) when my friend pulls my arm and says "put it away, the cops are really here!" Hehehe... it's like crying wolf

Speaking of the cop siren phenomena... A few years ago a few DJ's at parties here used to play 'Miraculix - Inspector Gadget' to alert the crowd that the police was around... Mhmm.. memories...

I might be wrong but in india i dont think the cops would use the siren or anything, they'll just land up and beat the fuckin crap out of you.
