A new DJ in the line up

DJ SENTIENT
San Francisco / California
USA
http://www.vaporvent.com/home/content/view/20/45/

A lover of trance since he was first exposed to it at a rave in Mexico City in 1994, Sentient has become addicted to the powerful sound of today's psytrance. When he plays, foremost in his mind is the music and the desire to guide people through it. A world traveler all of his life, his unique experiences living in Africa, Mexico and Israel (as well as trips to Europe and Southeast Asia) have given him a unique and optimistic outlook on life, and he channels his personality and energy into each set.

He describes his musical style as, "Psytrance for the dancer. A blend of slower, groovier, funky stuff and hard, crushing, psychedelic ragers. The kind of musical journey that captivates your mind, and makes you shake and sweat your ass off." His music collection ranges from full-on psytrance, to hypnotic progressive, to dreamy downtempo. He can play any timeslot, from a building opening set to a mid-night stomper, to a beautiful sunrise journey, and his technical skills are on par with some of the best in the business.

Sentient plays regularly in San Francisco at both undergound and club events, formerly as a founding resident of Thump Radio, who were at one point the largest promoters of psytrance on the West Coast. He also has his own weekly psytrance party, called Synchronize, at Il Pirata, a bar in San Francisco. This weekly started in August of 2003 and is still going strong, with many local and international DJs and artists on its roster. He has also played at the amazing Burning Man festival in Nevada several times, last year being one of the organizers of the biggest psytrance camp there in years, and this year DJing the sunrise set after the Burn itself on the biggest sound system on the Playa. Sentient has played in many other locations in the States, such as the famous Avery Ranch in LA, the Enosa Festival in Oregon, and even the Ultra Music Festival at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Recently, after traveling the festival circuit in Europe, and with a month-long trip to Brazil just over the horizon, Sentient is thinking about bringing his music to a global audience, and has joined VaporVent Records with just that in mind.

Some of the acts that Sentient has played alongside are Hallucinogen, X-Dream, Shpongle, Deedrah, Astrix, Son Kite, GMS, Infected Mushroom, Pixel, Absolum, Chromatone, Protoculture, Shakta, Cosmosis, Space Tribe, Penta, Neuromoter, CPU, Bamboo Forest, Wizzy Noise, Astral Projection, and many more.

NEWS:: ECLIPSE FESTIVAL 2007::::

Elfintome visionary arts and culture presents a gallery and tribal market featuring

Luke Brown
(elphinstone, BC) www.spectraleyes.com

Luke Brown is an intrepid explorer for whom mystical experiences, dreams, medicine journeys, and channeled lucid dialogues with the source of creativity itself seem to guide and be guided by the colourful symetries and living surfaces of his art. He is intent on mapping his hyperspacial experiences with utmost accuracy, with whichever medium is best suited, as a form of multidimensional cartography.

St. Even
(Vancouver BC) : www.divinereflections.ca

St. Even joined the visionary art community in 2005 with his series of divine reflections, a body of work he describes as visionary portraiture for visionary people. In two years the series has grown to over 80 pieces, each a portrait that reflects an individual within the underground dance community, honoring their essence as a work of art. His works have shown nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions and at numerous festivals.

Guy Atchison
(Marion, IL) : www.hyperspacestudios.com

I believe that there exists a family of archetypal forms, non-iconographic images which nonetheless convey their meaning to the viewer simply & directly, at a level possibly deeper and more universal than that accessible through the use of cultural iconography, and whether or not these universal images can be captured in their naked form and rendered as art pieces remains the single largest question in my life

Victor Olenov
(San Francisco, CA) : www.arthealing.org

To the mind of Victor Olenov, the visionary artist has the power and the responsibility to create images that will reflect our true godhead essence thus triggering self healing and self regeneration. Olenov sees the visionary artist as a galactik scout, set to find images to trigger visions that will feed the flame of creation, nourish the spirit of humanity and revise the description of reality, bringing us into deepened resonance with all of nature.

David Heskin
(Seattle, WA) : www.newskinstudio.com

Honouring the essence of inspirimentation through an ever expanding skillset of creative mediums... every moment realized as a moment of art! Being a brush held by the divine hand, David Heskin is willingly devoured and possessed by the infinite possibilities of an ecstatic, co:inspired dreamscape in which creativity is key.

The galactik trading card oracle complex, entheo art microgallery:

I hear ya Paradigm. I implied about playing this year months ago and they said they were full. What's really going on? Ricktam contacted me about playing in Cali, I told him what about what his collective said to me and no reply. Kinda wierd! So, WHAT'S UP tech-safari?

not to sound mean or anything, but im sure it wasn't by whining.

@ Wichdokta : the line-up is put together almost years in advance (with a few exceptions).

maybe your styles don't appeal to them? Maybe they are looking for Dj's who are implemented in different way's than you guys?

You can't expect everyone to be booked in the end either.. too much demand. Hey, i've been on this forum for years now and no one has booked me in Cali or in any parts of the states. I am sure i've even e-mailed your crew regarding a booking without a response..

either way, be persistant if it really means that much to you !!
