Pitching itself squarely between fans of progressive and deeper morning psytrance, Flow's 9th compilation delivers an antidote to the clattering urgency of today's full-on or ploddy prog tendencies. Depth, direction and attention to detail characterise both the tracks and the flow of the album, with artists from both sides of the prog/psy lines creating a sonic journey that proves the value of space and restraint in creating an infectious groove. Standout tracks include Freq's '16842' with his usual ninja-like percussive accuracy and spine tingling synth sweeps, Yotopia's warm and capacious 'Pepper Ball,' Echotek vs Side Effect build and blossom into liquid melodies on 'Another Era,' Quadra has all the right sounds, sometimes floaty, sometimes twisted in 'Beyond the Music,' while my hat comes off to Human Blue for pursuing the groove they've been perfecting since before we were even calling this type of music 'progressive.'

Yet another top notch unmixed compilation arrives on my door step. This time we see the other side of Psy Trance. The deeper side that I love. 1st Track is from Freq, and boy what an opener. This sets you up for the rest of the quality to follow. Highlights for me from, Human Blue, Hydrophonic and Quadra. Nice! (5/5)

Echoes is a nice compilation, which works on dancefloors and is good to listen at home as well! Flow records keep his high level of quality and show one more time that Trance is intelligent music!
