I'm going to eventually get one keyboard synth on top of all my modular, as I feel it's worth having one workhorse keyboard synth and it comes down to these two.

What do ppl think? DSI is winning for me as having played a few times at a friends who has both it's got a raw feeling to the way it can be tweaked etc. whereas the moog is very smooth. The moog also it's the bass I like and my friend can sell me his Minitaur for $300.           Cuntus Maximus.

The XL is way too expensive for what it does. Between them two i would defo pick the P12.

Voyager is great synth , but , its still mono and is definitely not a workhorse .

Also as Nectarios said , the XL is too expensive ( $4995 )

You just can buy the Voyager ( 2999 $ ) + VX351 +CP251 ( 664 $ together ) and have the same Modular fun as with the XL but for less money ( 3663 $ )

If you have the money for XL you can actually get kind of both , The Voyager with the expansions + Prophet 08 Rack

Mmm think I'll go the Prophet 12 and either a minitaur or a Sub Phatty. Best of both worlds.           Cuntus Maximus.

Not a fan of the layout of Prophet '08. I had one for 4 months second hand this year but sold it to pay for most my modular the 12 is much better layout IMHO!!

If I had the cash for a Voyager XL I would get a eurorack case, MacBeth Micromac in module format, a Minitaur for the VCO re-trigger and AU/VST easy of use and spend the rest on eurorack modules (including 2 Livewire AFGs) that will leave the XL standing both interms of sound palette and the actual sound.

+1 on Moslab.
Strange that MacBeth and Moslab beat Moog, sound wise, at their own game.

So I've got $4.5KAUD to spend. Taking in to account I've already got modular fx in my system what FX units would you recommend?           Cuntus Maximus.

depends if you want all the controls easy for live you better go with pedals, for complex editing in the studio eventide racks are more suited but maybe overkill for your needs (except the eclipse that is not as deep and good price secondhand, h3000 are the warmest/most colored one so might worht it too if you like ..)

mf108 mf102 mf103 mf104 are good to me but after it s taste..and you can control these with cv

all eventide stompboxs if you don't go for a rack..( timefactor , modfactor , pitch factor ,space)

proco rat and a few others pedal here and there

the rest you spend on a synth or modular modules

so many way to blow cash..

Strymon TimeLine is also brilliant. Digital, but great.

P.S. that JP4 sounds sublime!

sound good ^^

just to get a little idea of pitchfactor

with the eventide and the moogs + few others pedals you get best of both worlds
