Drums and Perc samples key

hi
I wanted to know if there are some who can tell me if drums and percussion samples have to be on the same key or can it be on the same scale to sound great? I have some samples that not sound right, if I transpose them more than 2 simitones |

No they don't have to be in the same key. Sounds really boring...
Just tune by ear. Like you said it did not sound right. Try other sample.

I think it is all up to you. If you think it sounds good then it sounds good. But i think the keys you are using have to fit together otherwise it wont sound good no matter what.

yes thats a common problem, in scale sounds most times better, tuning by ear means most of the time putting in scale

Hmm, i like to make my own kick drums atleast...
the rest of percussion i dont care whether tuned or not.. they guna get mangled up anyways to make them sound more interesting...
use the search anyways youl find about a thousand topics on this subject.
if there are thousands of wel produced samples then u answered your own question... choose another that fits, or atleast design your own transient from them to fit...

Maikel you say there are thousands on well-produced top samples
what a point to use them
if you can make amazing amazing drum and prec
really fast and they will sit right on your track without searching any stupid simples.
you wasting more time to search right simple then just make your own.
pulse when you make your own prec and other stuff you can move them and shape them like you want
for example move the snar 1-2-3 mli sec before or after the kick
but if you still want to use stupid sample
move one to right side the other to left and see what is the best for you play with an EQ

what synth apart of Bassizm do you use for kicks guys?
Care to show some samples?
I have some nice settings in ACE that can lead me to a lot of different sounding kicks, but mostly I use just a few kick samples again and again that work always nice.

lol... i offer my advice ..thats all,i hav nuthing to prove to you mate.. 
again i wil say, make ya own and dont be lazy eh..takes 5 seconds to program a kick.
not about avin shit to prove mate, just sayin instead of waistin time askin bout note of samples u could of made 100 by now yourself in your own key instead of shiftin thru thousands til one 'fits'... no skin of my nose mate...
to cut it a lil shorter... who gives a fuck wether a shaker is in tune with your lead n bass.. so the answer is no
thro em ina sampler and twist them up .. otherwise you will sound like the next person that has your sample pack is my point really ...
sayin that, your listeners aint guna notice it anyways... if u want to...upto u

Already defensive? The guy only asked to hear some examples of your words, explaining sounds is hard and showing sounds is the easiest way to say:" like this!", not attacking from my perspective.

I totally agree Some people may say it's not pointless, but for me with the HH it's more about the proper EQ to make them fit in then the actual note -> and this makes particular sense if your HH is made from a white noise sample 
With the kick, though, I'm more a "in tune guy" - since the kick has a slow frequencies in it's tail I thing it can really sound better if it's in a key relative to your root note

Well, you do have a point - there is a lot of good stuff out there already. You can probably get your hand on the most beautiful and well processes perc samples and use them, but the chances that they will end up sounding bad are high
This, because maybe you use samples from different packs, maybe because a sound must sound good in the mix, not in solo, maybe because whoever made the sample is human and makes mistakes too, maybe because everyone else has already used it before.
But, my main reason for advising you to create your own samples is to learn the sound design = learn more tricks and tools for your production. If you were the one who samples that noise going through tight filter and amplitude envelopes, hard-panned to one side with a 10 ms delay sent to the other, well then it's up to you it you'l like to lower the filter frequency range, add a bit of a carrier wave FM'd by the noise pan it first center then LFO's with an autopan, while adding a chorus with a lot of feedback and a delay for a slap-back effect, effectively transforming the HH into a lead, well it's up to you.

Plus, there's definitely not a standard for how a perc should sound or processed, and as long as what you've created for yourself sounds good to you it is good Just imagine if you try and find something unique and amazing, never discovered before?
Also, you can always sample your synthesized kick, load that into a sampler and mangle it in the exact ways you would another sampled kick - but where the source was generate by you

I typically use Ableton Operator for making kicks, it gives a lot of control over the pitch envelope (plus, it's terribly easy to turn a kick into something totally different), which for my is critical in obtaining the tone I want for the kick, and making it sit with the bass.
Therefor I don't use samples kicks but adjust the vst to spit out the kick I want in accordance to the tune For examples, check out my tunes, maybe everything from 3/4 years ago to now

errm...i wasnt the one that got defensive lol...im sure he doesnt need me posting up samples of samples of similar samples he has in his thousands of samples..lets get real here 
i simply sed i aint in no desperate rush to present music to tiny minded people that follow the same trends..
my projects are in carful development was al i was getting at..
the little pissy comment of 'let me hear some of your music' had nothing to do with wanting examples of self produced drum hits... so knokz lets not delude are selvs with who got defensive lol....
remember dont try pul wool over my eyes and make out everything is hunky dory..coz it far from it..
the comment wasa pissy one end of..almost like a child wrote it... my daddy is bigger than your daddy..
