PSYCHEGROUND is back this Thursday, April 12, in NYC!
Join us for a night of music and dancing with 2 for 1 drink specials until midnight at the newly renovated and greatly improved Sullivan Room now with larger capacity and better sound!

Coming from a background of playing in rock and heavy metal bands since the age of 12, in 2000 DJ Fred started producing experimental electronic music in the Brazilian house/techno scene. Since then, tuning his sound more to the psychedelic style he has been DJing full-on trance and downtempo in some of Brazil's biggest festivals including Trancendence, Universo Paralello, Solaris, Earth Dance, Cachoeira Alta, Soma, and many more.
In 2003, Frederico Drummond began producing psy-trance under the alias PATCHBAY. Recently returning from a very successful European tour through England, Holland, Spain, Austria, and Hungary, Patchbay has been blowing people away where ever he takes his music.
After several releases on such labels as Planet Ben/Highway Star (Japan), Mandala (France), Materia (Spain), Divine Balance (USA), Geomagnetic TV/Morning Star (USA), Fred has joined Reality Engine in New York and is participating in the audio production of their debut DVD and other projects.

Awesome! I missed Dreamcatcher parties. This is great they they are back this Thursday!
Sullivan Room is a nice spot too. Great sound. And I hear the sound is even better now... I can't wait to hear what the new sound is like, especially with psy-trance!

Dreamcatcher parties could always make you sweat on a weeknight! Glad to see theyre back!!! Looking forward to some good vibes music and energy with the good Dr. Lu and friends!
So yeah, they completely renovated, expanded, and upgraded the whole place recently, including, (most importantly) a brand new sound system custom designed and built apparently by Core Audio. I found the following interesting reference to their sound redesign on another site forum.
Sounds like the "new" venue and sound system, along with the intent that went into this redesign is perfectly and appropriately fitted for psy trance - our tribe and especially the beats our local (and tropical!) wizards will surely come strapped with should get a warm welcome with open arms...

When Sergei brought Core Audio in, he shared he views the Sullivan Room as a place for those educated few. A intimate, comfortable, escape were the experience of the Music, and the integrity of the art is first priority!
The "Surge" system we built for the Sullivan Room was designed to transparently transfer the religious experience that is this music! A state of pure energy that requires a perfect alignment of the stars.
First there has to be someone like Bill whose entire existence has been for nothing else other then to understand the meaning of pure reproduction of sound. Then there has to be someone with the vision and the ridiculous bankroll to let someone like Bill have a canvas for his art. Lastly though, as a final but critical icing on the cake, the environment itself has to be brought into perfect alignment.
As Bill would explain it, "a room is very much like a guitar. The sound system as the strings of the guitar originate the sound, but its the room or the body of the guitar not the strings that you ultimately hear." |
