DOOF RECORDS - Blanka - Infinity

Track list:
01 Future Delay
02 Long Way
03 Infinity
04 Janana Test
05 Samurai
06 Rocket
07 Into The Drummer
08 Fly Voot
09 Rabbit

Before reading on I recommend listening to the preview doof records have posted, it made me buy the album and it gives more listening than the regular 40 second clips you usually get. A blessed initiative imo.

so what do we have here?

01) a wicked baseline that grabs you by the balls starts this album exactly the way I like it. Sound and percussion work are impressive but no doubt, the baseline does it here. One of my favs. (5/5)

02) Funny intro sample followed by another wicked baseline, these guys can drive. Acid sounds and high hats push towards the break and its only up from there with more and more layers of sound joining in. (4/5)

03) Dark and thumping, the base comes nearer and stays solid throughout the track. a bit boring compared to the others. (4/5)

04) What can I say, probably the no. 1 dance-floor track here. Strong yet communicative and the “hi there” sample is great. The baseline changes toward the end and the whole track turns to high energy (with the firing squad drummers) (5/5)

05) This is one of the most interesting tracks here in my opinion. Very nice sound work that brings a real psychedelic feel. Good one. (5/5)

06) Rocket is actually a remix for sweet dreams, which conceptually sound cheesy, but is perfected here to a super track sending little reminders of the original that make you smile. A bomb. (5/5)

07) That evil baseline again, just can’t stay fixed to my chair. here we’ve got an electric guitar joining the party in the middle of the track making it less dark than the others, even a bit funky sometimes. (4/5)

08) I liked this one less. The machine like sound and breaks together with the movie samples just don’t do it for me. (3/5)

09) Finishing up with excellent taste, this track has drive. It’s the little things like the “tick tick” sample and the atmospheric horn that make this track float with a softer feel. (4/5) p.s I want to know where this sample comes from, is this jim morison?

Looks like blanka have a bright future, the sound is original and unique, but most of all it kicks ass. Even though this album is pretty dark I think even the softhearted can dance like hell to some of these.
If you’re a dj, you NEED it!
If you’re a listener, tired of that repetitive full on we get all the time, you NEED it.
If you like infected mushroom, don’t listen to this without adult supervision...

Just received this review from Ariel Ashkenazi @ 'layla' magazine

Blanka
Infinity
Doof Records

After many searches, three releases and creating enough cranial breaches with local wood-sorrels, cousins Duby and Yaron Elkayam decided to leave the family dinner table and finalize their decut album, Infinity. And if this is only their debut album, all that’s left for me to wish is to hear more of them in the future. And it will happen. The pair draw us a beautiful, hallucinogenic, nightish journey, composed of 9 tracks that tilt you to the floor very quickly, keeping you there, riveted. Which is very important. Besides the booty shaking factor, a sense of high end production is felt throughout the album, which gives us a very complete album, well produced, never boring, with pumping bass-lines and a great deal of body and psychedelics. Which is very important. Keep your ear for the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th tune, which samples “The Eurythmics”, ever so elegantly. After that, from the seventh track onwards, the pair slow things down, right up until the ninth and final piece, where you discover that, indeed, it’s morning. Good call.

Very good release. Nice minimal full-on, dark growly synths, very psychedelic dancefloor music. Standouts here - 4 is great, 6 is a classic - I've already played this one at three parties and 8 is very good. The rest are top notch as well. Another solid release from Doof - a label with its own original style. Cheers!

Debut album of Blanka – which is consisted of Dubi & Yaron Elkayam, masters of dark and evil full on.
This young and promising act have been receiving extremely good feedback in Israel and abroad. Their style is dark psychedelic – more Russian orientated.

The album starts with a few seconds of quiet sample, making you understand that this is the silence before the storm – and indeed this is the case. The Blanka dudes bombard us during the whole album with massive baseline, heavy psychedelic sounds and a dark atmosphere – so suitable for a nigh set. Hypnotic evil music, gets you chained to it and begging for more. You can feel its power, weighting a few tons of scary night material.

Very good production by the 2 cousins with clean sound. Interesting industrial psychedelic cover, kind of reflecting our today’s reality.
Once again, Doof Records release pure gold, and stay loyal to their style.
