gms might not be what most people would hear for fun at home, but let's face it, at parties, their "used up" formula kicks ass each and every time. and not just that, but even most of the trance "artists" who copy their music, create with that formula, dancefloor madness.
i think it only means, that whatever people think about their music in general, at parties, no one makes you dig like a total looney like gms.

I share the same opinion with most of you - GMS aren't the best ever, but they sure do wonders to the dancefloor! Ppl are all like "GMS suck, they use the same formula" but their music is directed to the dancefloor and it works, so what's the problem? Leave them alone if you don't like them! I'm not a big fan, but when I'm at aparty I love GMS 
And by the way, since you're talking about Simon Posford... I'm listening to Hallucinogen - Gamma Goblins (GMS remix)... very nice track imo

Simon Posord = Hallucinogen, Shpongle, Younger Brother, and many many many more. 
Many ppl consider him a god and master of sound, although it's just a matter of taste.

If GMS would release only 1 track out of 10 they make (the good one) they could be a real goodie band.

I dont know why you have to talk about GMS , what they did to the trance scene - not many people did so it doesnt matter shahar if they released 1 out of 10. It's very good if every artist was releasing 1 out of 10 , maybe then we wouldn't have seen so much shitty tracks released |

I use to love GMS. I especially love the track on the Goa Gil mix when everyone else was starting to sound the same you could hear how original they were. You have to give them some credit for truely changing the overall sound of psytrance, but I dont even bother buying anything new from them. They just keep milking the same old same old over and over and over.
As far as the best ever no one can ever touch old Simon tracks for me. If it wasnt for simon im not even sure i would have ever got into psytrance. I envy so much someone who is into psy and gets to listen to simon for the first time. You have such a sonic treat ahead of you, savor it... ive probly listened to the first shpongle album over 2000 times and it still rocks. Nothing can compare though after you have heard it about 5 times and its fresh, I doubt any album will ever blow my mind the way it did.

Gms is the most "stable" band , indeed , but i dont think theyre the best ever...
most of their music is for a commercial purposes [IMO]
and too much remixes...WAY TOO MUCH !!! |
