having listened to the new album for the last few weeks I have come to absolutely love it. Sure it's a bit more commercial but the quality is just outstanding and it takes me back memory wise to a lot of the styles of dance music I grew up on in the 80's.

Top stuff           Cuntus Maximus.

Strange taste is what makes people so unique.

I also quiet like what I've heard of Kanye West's new album and I never thought in a zillion years I'd ever say that!           Cuntus Maximus.

Both of them are fun albums. There's no shame in enjoying mainstream material. I don't get the people that believe that only the most underground music can be good. Kanye might be an uber douche but his music has been and still is fun, challenging and often hard to digest.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Yeah for ages I had no respect for rnb/hip hop or even gangster rap until I got invited to spend a few sessions in studio with one of Australia's bigger crews. I was amazed at the talent and skill in their production, especially compared to some of the bigger names here in this scene. It changed my perspective on a lot of music. I'm not always a huge fan of what the lyrics convey but the music itself is very good.

I gave up on caring what ppl think about my musical choices ages ago, I like music that I like commercial or otherwise. That's it.           Cuntus Maximus.

I have been hering it a lot, and it doesn't grwo on me. I love Fragments of time, Giorgio and Touch, but the rest is not that exciting.
Three or 4 tracks are really boring (2, 4, 6).           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

I don't like or hate them, don't care much about them, people are brainwashing themselves just over and over so they finally start digging them, it's unnatural, just because they are famous and hip, that doesn't mean you just should reconsider your taste in music and first impressions and start going mental listening and re evaluating, so of course you gonna dig them in the end, this album is nice and it's one of that things that's gonna stuck with you if you are exposing yourself too much, like stockholm syndrome.

nobody has implied anything like it in this topic. maybe you have just problems admitting it?

there's lots of really good mainstream music out there but imo (see, that's just my opinion) dem punks's new album is boring and unimaginative and not innovative, groovy or catchy. how they managed to mess up the album is beyond my understanding. they even got help from moroder and rodgers for frak's sake! i coined up the term "diluted disco" to describe this album and stick with it

p.s. i've really enjoyed some of their previous tracks so i'm just a disappointed fan

+1 for grammy to the marketing team.
what a great job and hype indeed!

Have to admit, I haven't heard the whole album, only that one hit that seems to be on the radio a lot now (did all you guys really go out and buy the album?)

But from what my brother tells me (we have very similar tastes in music) the album is good to have on in the background in the house when you have people over. It's nothing to really pay attention to, as you would on a dance floor, it's more to create an ambiance, if you will. Maybe put it on shuffle with some other (real) disco or other 'neo disco' stuff that I hear is coming out of Paris these days.

I share the same opinion, it's basically that, nice background music, if this was released in past it would go unnoticed, I can bet on it, now it's refreshing and basically just that, fun music to put on and don't pay attention.

I guess in every country there are clubs that have retro nights only, I was pretty much addicted on them for few years because it was just awesome, love is in the air and crowd is just phenomenal, talking about dancing, laughing, flirting, making out and it's just that vibe is magical, the groove&bite of music is just sexy and nobody is on drugs which leaves room for pure pleasure and emotions, it's natural comparing how drugs can drive more than music is, but this DP is far from that, it's music for coffee shops, homes and earbuds, nothing more, nothing too exciting, nothing memorable, but either way is fun music and some of the tracks will find their way to enter the clubs one way or another, dj's are spinning what is hot always, remixed or mashed up or whatnot, it's gonna find the way.

Too much hype made love it or hate it situation, I clearly find the music nice, but it's far away from being anything more than nice and fun, it's a bit of disappointment if you see how people are reacting, you would think it's best music on planet, but in reality, far away from that

You're entitled to your opinion. HipHop isn't my preferred music but I've got mates who're into it & when it comes to a choice of a fun night out at a club or being a music snob and staying at home I prefer a good night out.

After 20 hits of tequila anything sounds good IMO.           Cuntus Maximus.

I have heard the new Daft Punk album a couple of times, I think its not at a bad album. There are some nice chill out tracks like Motherboard. You shouldn't compare this album to any of their previous works, its very different. However bringing in the old school element they have a good job. If you compare their works you may not like it, however listen to it as though they were a new artist and what they have created I think its pretty decent and fun to listen to. I don't think any one the tracks would make it as big as their previous works however nonetheless this will definitely go down as an experimental project for them.           Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons.
