Ishvara's "Magik Square Of The Sun" is my personal go-to-sleep album. It's like being dragged from the awaken state, to dreamland, by a friendly musical force.

Juno Reactor - Lu.ci-ana & V/A - 12 are the two albums that I frequently play while falling a sleep.
Variation is great, so... But these two albums are perfect.

Drone and ambient equals music.

Mostly Brian Eno stuff when i need to relax or some trance compilations when i need something more energetic and by trance i mean tiesto, oakenfold and paul van dyk stuff.

I rarely listen to psy trance before going to sleep, not anymore at least.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

this is really freaky how many people can't sleep without some noise of their choice in the background (and don't get all worked up on the word "noise". i like most of the albums mentioned here too ). i just love silence. i think all living creatures need silence every now and then. i need several hours daily, sleeping and awake.

I live on a major street with plenty of traffic noise so music is a must... I try and chill it out with smooth ambient like Galaxy, Ooze, Human Blue, Shulman, Bluetech, Deviant Electronics...

^ this tells it all.

What's funny is that you can also see how many times I had to listen to POTS to review it same goes with Kiwa.

I'm totally with you on that one.

And now for a quote: "Sleep... those little slices of death, oh, how I loathe them." Edgar Allan Poe

Just thought it'd fit in the theme here.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Acidhive you just reminded me of one of my favorites poets ,Percy Bysshe Shelley .

How wonderful is death!
Death and his brother Sleep!
One pale as the yonder wan and horned moon,
With lips of lurid blue. The other glowing like the vital morn,
When throned on ocean's wave It breathes over the world: Yet both so passing strange and wonderful.

I used to fall asleep listening to metal through my earphones ... Now ive switched to ambient, I guess I'm getting old .           Row row row your boats gently down the stream; merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.

Sometimes.

Other times I get distracted by it and too lost in the sounds.

It has to be very quiet if it's on.
