Do you read the long posts and threads?

Hi there.
I was wondering if people here actually read what is written on previous posts before they reply...
I usually take my time reading before I reply... Why? To get the whole picture of the subject, and to know what opinions where explored.
But I think many people don't do that... Possible reasons are lazyness, lack of time or hurry to press the "submit" buttom. I personally "suffer" from lack of time and sometimes lazyness...
As an example look at one of my favorite threads: "psychadelic movies". People are posting movies names that where posted more than 2 years ago... I see this thread as a collection of nice psy movies and people are diluting the thread into a sea of repeated posts...
What are your opinions and attitude in this subject?

I don't reply to long threads I havn't read all the way through myself though.
If I don't bother reading through it all, I don't bother posting.

I always read. That is the point of this forum: to read, get Info and opinions.

i'm lazy, don't read them, unless it is something of enourmous interest to me.
most likely i will not post a message if i did not read the whole string, but if i do answer i will say something like "i have not read the whole thread so apologies if etc etc". not the perfect solution but sort of polite at least

I do my best to read the whole thing...but sometimes I'm kind of lazy...
Some writing skills such as don’t write long periods make the reading easer...

yeah...intrestin thread..!
imo it totally depends on what kind of a topic it is...if its some kinda recomendations thread thats pulled out to 25-30 pages then i just pore thru it to see if i find somtin intrestin n then post if it hasnt been posted before, if my post is just a repeat then i hope its of use to the nice people here who dont have the time to read all the pages!
and if its like a debatable topic that stretches to like 30 pages...then i make it a point generally to read the whole thing, even if i dont have anything to add...some of ure replies are just plain fun! n eat up a lot of my free time!

I only read the threads around 50% of the times when I participate. (if its long threads).
When I answer in a thread myself, I often repeat myself, so that people who do not read all of the thread understand the backdground for my argumentation.
This can of course be frustrating for the person who reads all of the thread - but I dont expect people to invest more time into reading than I do myself.

It really depends for me i guess.. i read when i can/have the time... these days there has been alot of reading ..lol.. 29 pages of "natural" this, "un-natural" that.. lol.. but yeah.. most of the time, when i reply, i read most of the stuff.. posts that are too long, i sometimes skip over, unless its as CD review.. those are always fun to read..

depence the topic
some of them is not necesary to read it all
like your favorite track or best dj.
some others If is interesting I read it all before I make a post.
and some times no at all. I just read what ask about the topic maker and I make my post
like the most people here I think..

Nice to see different points of view here, I agree in some extend to most of you...
The answer to my question depends on too much variables... But it seems most people at least try to read what their think it's important, that's good.
