Well, the music that seems to be discussed here is the "dark twisted wicked killllargh" chaotic kind of psy. Are people also into the melodic,downtempo or the more acidic sides of psy, or is it just dark?
It also seems to be the more Winter Demon and Iron Madness kind of darkpsy, which at points isn't that psychedelic IMHO, but more like....chaotic noise? |

in my opinion, it might look like that as a nation we like darker music (like high bpm stuff) because generally you see more indian acts releasing that kind of music, but i dont think its enough basis to make that generalisation. as listeners we listen to all kinds of psychedelia (including ambient, chill and psygressive stuff). also keep in mind that there lots of indian acts like stomp n wavelogix who release lighter psychedelic music

well to add to that,. ppl just don listen to only trance n its different forms.. but they listen to a lot of other music like all kinda rock/alternative/metal, indian n western classical, fusion, experimental, other forms of electronic music etc etc etc also... i mean to say a single person can listen to all forms if he has the love for music,. shudnt catagorize music at all... except for convinience of organising it or prolly business purpose...
And yeah dark/heavy is KILLLAARRGGHHHH i say... lol  so is all other music  |

i think its safe to say that the psytrance population of India in general leans toward the killlargh. But I actually know some fellow indians who prefer full-on and twilight. And there are plenty of people (including myself) who listen to the full spectrum (ambient chillout to super killlargh bajao) of psychedelic. |

i listen to all kinds of music, except for a lot of country, pop and gangsta rap or tit ass booty shit.
That said my fave style of psy is Aussie/Kiwi style, which is usually funky proggy morning or twilight stuff. Totally different from the killllargh kinda stuff.
Followed by SA stuff and soumi/Finnish style.
I had stopped listening to psy for a while, it was during the time the "horror" gabba hardcore kind of psy was all the rage and that didnt appeal to me at all, but pretty popular in India. |
