Yesterday I got my hands on on the latest 1200 mics album, and really wanted to hear what were these people up to lately. I have been avoiding spun/gms stuff for the last couple of years, especially after the last 1200 mics album, which was a total disaster.

The first thing I saw that there was only 5 tracks, an intro and a megamix. I was like, wtf? So i put it in my player and forced myself to an hour long listening to this watered down ibiza full on. As the album ended I feelt a slight of rage... I couldn`t belive to what extent does their laziness and disrespect for the audience go.

Okay, well surpass the fact that GMS makes music not suitable and acceptable to any self respecting psytrance listener. They stated the want to brake out to a larger audience and make disco full on, which is still okay from some prespective, but what I was amazed is the fact how little effort was put into this! 5 tracks, 2 of them really stupid rmx of famous tunes (thunderstruck by ac/dc and Another Brick in The wall by Pink Floyd), a intro and a megamix of thier reviously released tracks. Come on. Also a forced concept of numbers, where there is no concept at all when listening to the tracks. Not even a tiny effort of changing direction, and trying something new. Even their previous album "The Time Machine" sounded different from the two albums before that(even if it was utter crap). But there isn`t even a slight change. It sounds
like these tracks here were left out from the last album, because they sounded bad, even for Raja and GMS back then, and now in the failure of ideas and ingenuity, and laziness, they resurface... Un fuckin` belivable!!!

I think this is an open sign from them of showing total disrespect to their public. As I see it, they are testing the limits of how much shit they are capable of craping that the audience is willing to eat. But the sad fact is that with this kind of music, they`ll
make an even bigger fan base. So another question raises: who is really here to blame? I leave that for another topic.

Incredible how people that provided such good psytrance with the infinity project and the old GMS are capable of acting like this.

Yes very sad indeed. The first album is a classic of a sort.

You know, I never really bothered with them... are the 1st and 3rd really worth checking out? I think the only 1200 Mics I have in my collection is Eat Static's remix of Egypt (which is, admittedly, quite fun) as well as some compilation appearances... I'm curious some of the time, but their albums seem to be abhorred by many people whose taste I respect, and there's always something more lucrative to check out...

its good music - I'm not saying its ground breaking but way better than the Israeli average full on. fun music but not childish. It has concept not just a bunch of tracks.

+1
Sort of the same feeling here. Checked the samples and they're disapoining. IMO their worse CD to date.

I disagree with Nathan, the concept I hear there is the old guitar + vocals = killa. Maybe I'm over reacting, listened to the samples only once, but how could I do it again after such a deception?

Yes it's a shame indeed. It's a rape of the spirit that once was pure and psychedelic. No one got murdered, but someone sure is getting butt-fucked. The first ‘1200 Mics’ is a quit enjoyable album (for a full-on album). Never did get the sense for the other releases and some of the worst tracks I've ever heard are those rock remakes. Absolutely embarrassing, truly childish - makes me sick to my stomach. Yes, try before buy and just DL the album followed by Delete the album. Easy AND you save money. As Mr. Basilisk said; 'there's always something more lucrative to check out..'

Ps. GenijeNajveci, full credit to your words, very nicely put, no confusion, straight to the bone of the truth.
Ps2. I have not heard the album in question.

not before long was this album in the recycle bin. the ones i truly enjoy get ordered, thus supported. as i once read on this forum, somebody said that releases like this deserves to be distributed through p2p sharing.
lol

and this goes to show how good marketing promotion and label support, can totally overcloud the quality of the music.           SPQR
