Ok, maybe there was a point in time where guitar riffs sounded really cool in some groovy morning tracks to give it that extra rush. Then Skazi was on his way using them in lots of his tracks to create the 'ULTIMATE BREAKS'. Even now I keep hearing fairly good artists using those typical electric guitar riffs and I'm really irritated now.

Isn't it about time they move passed this?

What about mangled over distorted multiprocessed chopped reinverted phase reversed guitar sounds that sometimes don't sound like guitars at all ... or more psychedelic/Metal guitar play or rock and roll like broken groovy stuff... does that sound skazi to you as well?           http://www.myspace.com/vectroelectro

it works really really good if done in a proper way .. ie no blatantly ripping slayer and metallica riffs aka skazi , azax syndrom etc .. try some haltya funky wah wah guitar bits ..

some of them are good, but not my favorite, so as nipun86 said, I just don't listen to such tracks that much.

I prefer softer sounds.

Well you've said it yourself, after making so many changes to the sound itself, it isn't really going to be recognizable to the average joe like me anyway. Then it's the question of weather after it's been "mangled over distorted multiprocessed chopped reinverted phase reversed" ... does it still sound good? I'm sure the more acid rock synths go well with psychedelic tracks but I'm not hearing that to often as well. The sounds used are really cheesy.

The point is not to ignore tracks which already have a great flow going, great sound but then there's this section in the track which sounds so unappealing. Sounds like as if the artist is running out of sounds to play.

dude, it just a guitar and if u do it right u can creat
some butifull sound that can go with allmost eny bass line,
olso acid loops can be amazing but not many artists
using it today, (not as much as b4) so alot of those sound just come and go come and go come and go ...

i agree with mk47

its `how` you use it that makes all the difference in the end...this is the end...

I saw some liveact with a guitar here in brazil, i think it was skulptor.
Anyways, they did it in a really good way
Nice solo in the intro wich really fit to the music.
And sometimes in the breaks a bit, not too much

I dont like the skazi way of using guitars, its just some stupid power chords that punkrock bands use           SQL: http://www.myspace.com/sqlmusic
Coming up: Releases
Planned: make tracks

Yeap!
Skulptor has some nice stuff with guitars. Both electric and acoustic.

S.U.N Project also pleases me. I think they know how to put the guitars like melodies, not too many solos, like IM, Skazi and Paranormal Attack.

If done nicely & matched up with the concept of the track, surely will sound good....           We were born naked & grow up to become wicked.

it's really sad, because most acts are playing the same guitar riffs :S

but then you hear an old xdream track with guitars or one from colin oood new album and it sounds good

how come...?? i guess skazy, exaile, etc, suck...           roll a joint or STFU :)

what about getting rid of everything people dont like in psytrance?::::
guitar riffs
Vocals
Vocal samples
303
808
fat basslines
Soon we would have no music at all to choose from and we could take care of that nasty problem.

personally I'm glad there are so many types of psy to choose from, so many talented artists and so many different dj's playing all kinds of tunes
