sorry, skipped the whole debate, so this is a very independent opinion. XP rocked my new chic who had never been to trance before. I think he created a beautiful bridge.

Hi there....the above incident wouldnt necessarily make Xps music good...bcoz for a newbie whos never or hardly listened to psytrance before nething with a beat and some tunes will be appealing....if ur pov is to be taken then ur gf will love the skazi sound for sure which alot of people dnt like and dnt associate with PSYtrance nemore( i personally like the sound not as PSYTRANCE but as a very hard form of EDM )
for dat matter with my own eyes ive seen noobs freaking to standard ,sometimes even below average fullon music @ curlies...dat doesnt make the DJ or his choice good....
IMHO XP sucks and his music will only appeal to non psy crowd...
Just my honest opinion ...           ----- Hippies...they wanna save the earth....but all they ever do is smoke pot ----

the idea is that we want more noobs in the scene, don't we? Big names gotta create that point of entry.

I think with playing the genre for so long, artistes and djs believe increasingly in integration. You may have gone deeper into the vertical, but the horizontal is a realisation at the top. I feel we should respect that than ostracise.

Is your qualm over what they are being integrated with? Well, we have a history of disowning our best products in the past, from rajaram to skazi to gms, so are you saying XP is the worst?

I hope you saw how many people were at the party. Trance, by its current image, is dead. We need to revive it, and if it requires fresh flesh, then let's stand by and encourage rather than become so insular that no voice reaches out.

v.v2 says "I hope you saw how many people were at the party. Trance, by its current image, is dead. We need to revive it, and if it requires fresh flesh, then let's stand by and encourage rather than become so insular that no voice reaches out. "

i totally understand what you mean by we need new fresh people coming into the scene ... and for the music alone and not for anything else.
not all artists are alike and should'nt be either. today there are very few trance music enthusiasts. We need fresh love to keep this trance music scene alive. not just lip service on isra ...           Love n Light
