well yesterday i was wondering that there aren´t (well that i have noticed, or heard), dj´s who haven´t a track of their own, or have a special tack that only few people have in the world.i mean, do dj´s have a special track that is their trademark?
when u go hear a dj spin, when they start a set, do they have that special track?
an example, i don´t know if it is the best:the latest cd from doof recs, has a track from bonky "thx tim", wich i can think that was only played by doof dj´s, or only belong 2 one person..u see what i mean?
does any of u have knowledge that dj´s have particular tracks?that is their trademark?           ...

Could be,
off course dj/producers can do that but I don't think this happens often.

You also have to keep in mind that when you're listening to some djs playing most of the tracks you're listening to are promos.
meaning that what they're playing today will be released tomorrow.

But back to your question,
If anyone knows who Sven Vath is (a classic german dj/producer/club owner),
He had so much cash that he could efford to ask particular artists to produce tracks exclusivly for him or else buy the rights of some tracks so he would be the only one on earth spinning that particular track!

Well, I play with the tracks and edit some introes, just to fool around. Here's an intro I played at a BIG party: http://www.utopian.dk/tt/amager_bio_04122004/ic/_489_8945_film.html

People was litterally standing blank not knowing what to do, some tried to dance a long, since I added some kicks.

So I could say Lindsay Lohan is my trademark, since I've used some "Mean Girls"-samples in a Vibe Tribe track as well. Hehe.

I love Lindsay Lohan - so that intro gives Raider some extra respect in my book           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

in Cape Town, ive been to a few alien safari parties where the Dj's play some tunes that arnt released and they are pretty much the only ones who own it. which is great in a way.

one of the best sound samples ive ever heard was one dj started his set with a vocal sample of a chick laughing, but seriously this chick is literally pissing herself with laugher. for about 2 or 3 minutes solid. by the endo of the sample. the whole crowd was pissing themselves with laugher. it was very funny and very well timed too. never ever did find the name of that tune....

hehhe,
that's definetly something I would never include in my music but I wish I was there anyway cause I would have probably died of laughter.

If one produces good music has more chances to meet other producors which they would want to swap unreleased tracks of their own, which then of coarse you will have unreleased tracks and you swap good ones for good ones which then their sets will be trade marked like you how called it but then again no producor would give their tracks away before they release them, unless you know for sure they will not give away, some tracks are made to be swaped and they stay unreleased otherwise it's not fair for any label to release tracks which they have been slaged about !

Unfortunatly some producors do slag away their tracks and then give them to labels to release....

DJ Ekanta had a trademark track, called Jurema, that was released in a different (and much worse version). Jurema is the name of a plant here in Brazil that contains DMT.

If I can remember the sample correctly it's:

"Aeee Jureme, Aeee Jurema a folha caiu serena lá pra dentro do altar"

With translates to something like:

"Aeee Jureme, Aeee Jurema the leaf fell peacefully inside the altar."

Not a good track IMO, but it was her trademark around 2003.
Respect!           .

Sure, I have a few of these tracks, some of which I will use to start a set with... one in particular was getting a lot of play for years as it is a simply amazing piece of work and I'm still shocked it was never released - never saw it on the circuit either. Dark, evil, moody, building psychedelic, minimal through several minutes of switch-back sound and twisted effects, unexpected drops, huge tribal drum climax, jazzy hook, pumping beat... this track is the perfect way to get the party going. But if I told you what it was I'd have to kill you

i have a small ritual i always do when i play as a dj and i really enjoy the party. in the best moment of the set i always play Hyper Frequencies - Alien fashion in some sort of celebration of a good night.

but this track i dont play it always, only certain times when the vibe is right. for me its one of the best tracks ive heard and playing it for me is always something special.

I used to have a trademark... I used to wear a big black fuzzy top hat every time I played... Till I got wasted at an afterparty and lost it...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I should... But I am kinda thinking of getting either a new hat of a different style or a big ass african styled flouro mask and a grass skirt... Any crafty type people interested in undertaking this experiment?           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
