Why DJ are being loved like Gods? (Tiesto. Okenfold....) They just play the music, not make it.

In Korea, the elite of the videogamers have groopies. A guy has chicks worshipping him for being good at Tekken. I think DJs deserve at least that

Nevertheless, i think you're half right Chaos.
Normally, a 'worshipped' dj also produces. Even if he doesn't produce if think that you need musical skills to do a good mix.
The rest i think it's plain human stupidity. Only God or whatever the name you call Him should be worshipped...
You realise everything you learn is in fact just learned, not necessarily true... |

IMO, there are two kinds of worshippers:
He who try to know what and why he is worshipping something and also asks and question himself about if this worship makes any good to him;
And the others who just need to worship something;

Oakenfold is a joke. Half the time he is on stage doing the "Jesus" pose behind the decks, he is playing a pre-mixed CD. UGH!
However, I think good DJ's deserve to be admired. A lot of people say "It's the music, not the DJ." I disagree somewhat. If it is just the music, why not simply hook a cd player up to a big sound system and put in a bunch of random goa CDs. The DJ takes the already great music, and makes it better.
I think I'm rambling, so...yeah, DJs aren't rockstars, but good ones deserve our admiration.

btw AFAIK Tiesto & Okenfold do create and play their own music...among other stuff of course...boom

When U imagine, U Goa Deejays, that someone like Carl Cox asks several thousands $ for a dj-set, don't U wanna cry ??
As always ignorance of the masses is being used on personal purposes.. (Hell yeah Pyite..)

in my opinion the true dj make a voyage with their music. But to the trip result, he (dj) need to mix the musics one after one,without you noticing.
(or something near that)....
he have to make a real trip of 2 or 3 or 4....hours.
this things have a lot of work 4shure....
but i need to said that, one dj that don´t make this type of work,for me isn t a true dj.
and for shure nowadays we saw more bad djs than good djs. its bad to all the moviment,and its bad to electronic music. |

The God-worship of DJ is absurd, because instead of going to the source and admire the Artist, u Admire the jukebox. I don't disrespect DJs and to saying (Jukebox) is to show that DJing is over-done (as u reffered to Okenfold's Jessus pose).
Live act is THE thing to admire...

most of the people who hear tiesto or oakenfold think that they MAKE the music!
that's AWFUL!!
imagine yourself tiesto playing bust a move of infected (that wouldn't happen i know)
and the crowed goes crazy and says : "what a great new track by tiesto! he is a genius!"
