Well Vector_0 the music is great as i allready suspected, but the flow breaks many times...
Please try to read these words as a contructive critisism, we are allways learning new stuff, me as well, my motivation to write these words is about sharing information and knowledge and nothing else.
The beatmaching in it self doesnt make the flow moving, it as to be in the right time and it the right equalisation.
Music is also a mathematic pattern that as to be carefully ballenced, compass harmony is key, bass entries, equalisation compensations, the right traklist order etc etc etc.
If you move the pitch as you do a couple of times the tone and speed of the track changes and the flow dies, flow is about harmony, not about having the tracks at the same tempo.
I have a chalenge 4 you, if you want!
make a remix of that tracklist, take the time you need to understand when a track is perfect with the next.
Use the Cue to beatmatch in the right compass of the track that is playing, and feel when the new track as the musical elements to enter (at the same time that the track thats almost over says ok im gone!).
The tracks will tell you if they like each other or not!
Attention with moving the pitch, nothing is worse than that!
When the track is going away the new track needs the right amount of volume to maintain the flow, and equalization needs compensation.
If both tracks have strong bass watch out!
A very good toll is to record each mix, and listen to it, and record again and so on...
I believe that is a question of practice and a lot of pacience.
Like i said before Vector_0 my words are meant to help and share information nothing else!!!
But your musical taste my friend is brilliant!!!
Two tracks that didnt know about that are massive, will buy them soon!!!
Keep the work in motion!
Stay Cool

wow, thank you so much for the feedback; i was really hoping someone would give me some advice like that. I'm kinda new to this genre so i'm still learning the ropes of how to dj it properly. Also, i'm new to cdj's (5 years exp. w/ vinyl tho) and don't have a pair to practice on, so my technique flat out sucks.
thanks again, I will heed your words |
