I can tell ya too!

Cuz it would be heckled by the other DJ's (Who are ignorant) and by punters who think they know whats what.

All they hear is SYNC.....and they think its a cop out.

They are ignorant to the fact that it frees up your time to do other things.

So I gonna use it this season......

I KNOW i will get flack for it.....I KNOW IT!

But as mentioned....it will be from wankers. (LOL)

The whole controllerism thing is not here yet.

The only thing i have seen thats close...is DJing in Ableton....using A controller....like a Oxygen 8 or something.

Never seen a DJ midi controller in the box.

Also, the rest are not of the Vestax's caliber to be honest.

I might manually beatmatch....and use the Smartmixer (Traktor + Ableton) i built up.

Ons sal maar sien!

Yeah.....once they see i am not touching the mouse....ONLY the controller....they might think differant.

It also does nto LOOK as cool as a DJM 800 and a pair of CDJ 1000's.

But....it will be dark....and the VCI has some killer lights....so i dunno.....

Lets see!

So I'm very curious, are you still happy?

I want to buy a dj software and a midi controller, but not ableton, I mix full n but also reggae, hip hop, electro and nu break beat in other party... do you suggest me to buy traktor pro and the vestax controller?

Also those arcade button you bought, are like 4 cue point to make loop? is it functional, how much cost the upgrade and is it easy to modify?

Thanks a lot for answers!

Also if anybody has got a good config with a dj software and a good controller, plese give your feedback!

Anybody has tested the tork from m audio? tork DJ software and tork xponent midi controller

Just use a regular old 16-pad drum controller and use this layout for traktor:

1 5 9 13
2 6 10 14
3 7 11 15
4 8 12 16

1 and 2 - left deck pitch bend up/down
3 and 4 - left deck pitch increase/decrease
5 - Left deck loop in
6 - Left deck loop out
7 - left deck cue
8 - left deck play

then similar for the right deck

Use a dual-output soundcard and connect to the DJ mixer and use that for mixing.

I don't wan't a regular drum pad controller, that's ok for a basic cheap set up to mix with traktor in a easy and simple way...

I'm looking for a professional set up with FX controlling, high end precision on pitch control and cueing, as less latency as possible, easy to move around when traveling and if possible a little sex appeal....and also to know for you which software is the best and which controller that goes well along with that controller

To be clear, if I were a good vynil user I would buy traktor pro and two vynil players, but I never mixed with vynils, always with cd's, so I decided that I'm gonna buy a midi controller and use my laptop to go full digital....

So I would like to fi9nd out the best config this way, I work so I can put the price, even if I'm sure there are very good options in the controller that cost less than 1000 $ because I've seen there are some who are very expensive, even too expensive...

@Stregone

I've used traktor for ages, and IMO this is one of the best mixing softwares available.

And then using this puppy (VCI 100) with traktor, is absolute bliss... makes the 101 stuff really easy, allowing the user to concentrate on other things like loops, applying filters / effects and using more than 2 channels.

I would def recommend trying this setup out, traktor PRO + the VCI 100. At least to see if this kind of setup works for you

+1
Something like the echo indigo dj or numark DJio or Native instruments Audio 2 DJ as an interface + mixer of your choice. That gives you best of both worlds.

No crashes etc. many usb based mixer might crash every now and then since there is too much happening.           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"

stregone, you can use traktor pro with cd players the same way as you can with vinyl. And since you are used to play with cd i guess that traktor duo or pro with the audio 8 or audio 4 soundcard would be perfect for you =)

Cheers

So I have been using it for a few months now (the VCI100 and Traktor Pro).

I have done the arcade button modification and have a black overlay. I also got new knobs for it....as the original ones were crap.

This is running on a MacBook 13" and a NI Audio 4 DJ.

I have not had it crash on me yet!

I played at a party recently and used the VCI100 for the first time ...at a large gig.

It was the SHIT!!!!!!!!!

I think you were there StuArt.....you and Frozen Ghost were before me huh?

Here is a clip:

about 70% of my mixes were harmonic as well....using the keycodes.

I was able to play 17 tracks in 1 hour. Layering them all as I went.

I have never been able to do that before.

So....RELOOP and VCI-100?

VCI-100.....HANDS DOWN!
