Hey guys,

This mix is fantastic Good tracklisting Edo ( I actually know some tracks, which i have also used them in my mix some time ago, while playing in the club ). Each track here fits perfectly to each other - Like papa on mama Still dont know for some of the tracks, but if you are digging into right dircetion you will find. Thanks god we have a beatport for that. Anyhow... i still remember myself 9 years ago, or a bit more. When i did some ass shaking on several techno parties with The Plasticman, Ritchie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, The Advent, Butrich... and so on and on. Pure minimal stuff, detroit techno - no pussy at all,experimental... just underground and hard going

So this one is reminding me on the old time - when we did some shake outs every friday and saturday. Keep on doing it Edo - perfect choice

Cheers,
P.

hmm...
i didnt heard the set, but a nice discussion about track lists, and i gotta say... i dont buy it.

not poblishing a track list for the reason of "i digged beatport realy hard" is a bit funny... since 95% of the djs live of beatport/juno etc... and im sure that djs who do publish track lists digged as hard as the djs who dont.

for me personally being a dj is most of all about spreading the music u love & play, and publishing a tracklist is a small part of saying thank you for downloading and listening, and not taking the listeners for granted.

so, sorry but im not realy convinced... i still see it as an ego and "i inventet the wheel" approach, specially when i see that even after so many requests its not published yet...

but every1 and his own way...

Yo
Psynthex thanx for your words, really appreciated! And glad you got the feeling of old days techno, I love it!

Yossi, my reason is not "i digged beatport really hard", but yes that i'm jealous of my music. Nothing to do with the "hard job" of digging beatport. Is not an hard job but a plasure to say the truth. If you read by previous post I explained what are my reasons not to publish a tracklisting. Saying that not publishing a tracklisting is like saying "I invented the wheel" sounds bit harsh tho.

By the way, I don't see all these people asking for a tracklisting...

I would like to add one more thing..

As much as there are people here, that come in, listen, and give feedback... There are the people that come in only to check the tracklist.. They even won't bother to listen to the mix itself..

This area is dedicated to DJ mixes.. DJ gives his true respect to the artist which track he plays, by buying his music ( for those who do this ofcourse ).. Posting his name on a tracklist is even better, but it's as I would say a "complemetary" respect.

There is some truth in that. Apart from the famous DJ's, there is never much feedback on any mixes. I post my mixes on a bunch of forums, and this one is always the one with by far the least feedback, usually none at all. Every other forum I post always has a lot more. I always figured thats because there are many famous DJs here who demand all attention, but the tracklist scouring could also be a reason that most people dont even care to listen.

On a sidenote, I noticed there are clique'ish reciprocal feedback circles going on here, like people posting good feedback on each others mixes, kinda like "I'll suck your dick if you suck mine"

It's actually really funny to observe, I havent found that on other forums either, at least not in this quantity. I already observed the same phenomenon in the old Top 10 section, btw, where always the same people applauded each others Top Ten. One explanation is mutual taste of course, but mutual dick-sucking definitely plays a part as well

Bla,Bla,Bla end of meaningless tangent...

Hey,

Maybe you will find this offending BUT, this is not the point at all. DJing music and Organising a music festival are 2 completly differente types of achieving and holding music on its tale.

In my opinion, Edo´s choice is on the spot. He is right in every point here. Why he should publish the tracklist at all??? I am not getting that. Because music is an art. And that makes DJ special and unique. Publishing his own tracklist means loosing his uniqueness and charm of the mix. Because later on, a million of DJs will have the same tracks in their mixes and what will happen than???

In my opinion, every DJ needs to find his own route. Edo tried his best to look over new releases, tried to search the best way to express himself by finding suitable tracks for his later on mix. Why should every DJ play the same tracks, from the same tracklist ( doesent matter if those tracks are new and "popular" if the DJ doesent get any satisfaction from it )

But this is a differente sphere again. Some DJs are playing for themselves and they share their feeling in public. BUT some DJs are playing for the people to get them funked up ( playing the most "popular" tracks.. or so called HITS ) that is lame IMO.

Publishing tracklist is a decision by a DJ himself. If he feels like, he should publish it; just go for it.. if not we can see what we got here at this topic. not a perfect vibe at all.

my 2 cents on this one...Bye bye,
P.

Edo dude how about if anyone who buys a ticket to sonica gets the tracklist??

i'm happy this has turned into a meaningful discusion, and till now is pretty much healthy...don't let it get bad and personal with all that hypocritical this and hypocritical that, it's not against the rules bro to publish a set without the tracklist...just read them, and a bad mouth doesn't really earn any respect, at least not in my book

So the fact that YOU understand edoardo's point and respect it, doesn't make your tongue brown, unlike other ppl that understand his point and their tongue IS BROWN... Well mate if you look for the terminology if "hypocrite" here it is in front of you...

And he is not only a partial owner of Sonica fest, he also owner of Neurobiotics trance label, so basically according to this, every positive word I say about him makes me gay, sleazy, slimy and with very brown tongue.

Fortunately for me, this is not the case ( THIS YEAR THERE IS NO SONICA FESTIVAL ) so I will have to unleash my tongue next year.

So maybe you keep your tongue in it's place, it would be the best idea           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman
