The thing is that todays listeners hear todays music with todays production, which is excellent. Old goa has quite a shitty sound (compared to today) - which scares people away.

Well that's not always right.
I hear "Union Jack - There will be no armageddon" and the quality is pretty good.
Maybe today's tunes sound better because they are more minimal than the goa tunes. Take for example Astral Projection's Kabala or Dancing Galaxy for example. The soundscapes are so rich and the melodies are so much more multylayered than todays tunes. You can actually feel the lack of Mid freqs in todays music whilst in Goa i was used for full spectrum.
Anyways i am basing it on my own feelings and pls don't come to me with Spectral Analysis of the latest GMS tune.
I personally don't listen much to Goa, though i tried to add to my collection recently Family of Light by Pleiadians but unfortunatelly i find really hard to connect to it nowadays

Pavel, I agree. Goa tracks are far more complex and multilayered than most of today's tracks. I mean, you gave a very good example. Just look at one track such is "Kabalah". I listened to it a million times so far (as a matter of a fact, I listen to it every day, I think), and every time I listen to it, it's better and better. I never get bored listening to it. Well that's what I call real powerful and insightfull music. Music that fullfills your body and soul completely... To be honest, that's what I'm looking in today's music too, but it seems that there's a HUUUGE lack of that stuff in most of today's trance tracks.

Tracks that are made today are mostly dancefloor oriented, I mean they are more oriented towards making you move your ass on the dancefloor and that's about it. I'm not saying all tracks are like that, but you gotta admit more and more stuff today is like that... I mean, I listen to the track, I like it, I can dance to it, BUT there is something that I'm missing in it.

I would like to see more and more not-so-linear-but-multilayered tracks with today's good production combined with old school melodic stuff. That would be really awesome and would certainly present a new step to the stars

I really like the idea of Tranceform Recs. that is trying to bring old school stuff in the game again, and present it in a new way. I haven't checked out new Ethereal album, but will do it soon. Also, I promised myself to download some of the Soliptic stuff, so I will

Other than that, I am listening to the new Trold's album, and I gotta say I'm really touched with their stuff hehe. Really stylish, melodic forest trance. Not really Goa style, but hey, it's melodic inspired and for me that is really important.Thumbs up!

Just heard the samples, going to order real soon.

I wasn't saying that they are old-school, but they give me the same kind of good vibes as many goa-trance tracks, which doesn't happen often nowadays .
