"Disco Volante are the latest new psy sensation to spring for the from the nexus stable! It is the collaborative efforts of Risky Business and Critical Mass. Two young producers from cape town who grew up on the South African twilight sound. Cleverly composed, thoughtfully arranged and superbly produced these four tracks make one of the best breakout EP's we as nexus have ever put forward! Mastered by Dale Byl Style: twilight psytrance"

Quote from a recent release blurb....now i'm confused, haven't we seen this name before??

Maybe this new "psy sensation" should stop a minute and learn a bit about this scenes History before copying a legendary name already taken!

choosing a name nobody in the same scene used before: fail.
making music that would live up to their name predecessors at least: fail.           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

er.. i think you guys might be being a little harsh - understandably they are not the first ones to use the name - but the originals have not released anything in over 12 years from what i can see on discogs

rather than focusing on the name, i recommend checking out their work - if you like the stuff nexus media release - you'll find it hard not to like their work

I don't think it matters if the originals haven't released anything since their day. The name holds a place in history and imo shouldn't be used again.

(and I found it reeeeally easy not to like their work, from the first up-siren).

this could also be a deliberate marketing strategy. it's not uncommon behaviour to ride on somebody elses name (and fame).
anyways, it would be wise to google ones alias before releasing tracks...
pom, you've been holding that ace up your sleeve for a looong time, haven't you? good timing!
