You might also have problems if your electric power supply is erratic, or if you have major appliances elsewhere in the house that switch off and on while you're downloading (eg, refrigerators, pumps, etc). |

Facts:
I have bought music on Beatport since the early days of 2004 and never had any issues with more than 10 tunes.
Beatport does not put any copyright protection on their tunes. I use Ableton Live all the time and none of the tunes I bought via Beatport has ever been a problem in Ableton Live.

Really? because after months of hassling Beatport they have come back to say that somehow the files were damaged at their end and they are going to replace them free of charge to me.

It must be a combination of things, surely the fact that you use a pc or a mac should not be different, also have you tried using an external drive for strage purpose? something from WD i'd recommend, they are very solid.
Obviously there may be some broken mp3 at the source including skips and errors because they made some mistakes while encoding them but in general files shouldn't give any major issue nor screw your computer.
That said the curse may still be around..  |

Looks like it is a cure. Actually now it's just Beatport so I don't use them. Bandcamp, Ektoplazm, Juno etc. are fine lol.
doesn't bother me much, just means some labels etc. won't get my support.
