I hope this wasn't directed at me. I genuinely found this thread interesting and I think there are many valid things here worth discussing (hence my questions), whether I was in attendance or not. I don't believe they were directed in a hateful or negative way at anyone.

We all have suspicions and misgivings about events that we hear about. Sometimes we end up going anyway and the experience isn't to our liking. I think it's important to recognize this process and be mindful of it so we can be more discriminating in the future. We vote with our wallets. Everyone helps shape the scene at large by what they choose to support.

I was in no way attacking you. Quite to the opposite I appreciated your comments more than the passive attitude of candy-coating negativity with the "oh well, the rest of it was good", or "maybe the idiots will learn something good by being exposed to psy" approach. I don't buy that stance at all. Being aware of the potential harmful effects towards the psy scene that mixed genre events (that bring in these idiots) can have is more important IMO.

And I'm not attacking this particular event either. I'm sure many people got lots of good out of it. I'm just bringing up a general observation and point of conversation that is obviously relevant to this event base on the direction this thread has gone.

jds I think the festival was largely put together with good intentions. I think the big problem is that the renegade stage promoter promoted it on Newraveorder and upstateunderground as a wemf replacement, which I think it clearly wasn't to the YogiBogiBox people.

I think quite frankly that the people around herkimer have a bit of a stick up their ass about the sound, but that we are probably not going to be able to use that venue next year as I'm sure they'll pass a sound ordinance, which is a shame it was a beautiful venue.

cosmosis was really amazing as was the guy who was on before him, I loved his set and was really sad that the sound continually fucked up on him. Psylab was also really amazing. I enjoyed a lot the psychill/psydub on saturday afternoon too, to name a few of the sets I really loved. It was also a lot of fun using the bubble sword and having giant bubbles fly over the crowd .

hey guys im a clean person and clean up but sometimes you gotta realise. you dont go to a festival to walk around cleaning and taking care of garbage, i understand u know , u throw ur cigs or beers out but if you dont. you know what thats where part of your ticket u paid for comes in. itsa 150 dollars to see alot of good music but let me tell you. festivals that are commercial with big name artists are sometimes not even that much money. local artists are cool and all that big names are really cool, since they had to work hard to get there. so honestly its funny people complaining about garbage yeh it sucks but get over it, people will clean it up after everyone leaves, that why they hire people to do that i dont worry about garbage at all cause i pay for somebody to clean it im just there for the music.

WOW outside the gate? wouldnt even go to a party you throw then, just because i dont think about garbage all day. kick rocks i throw my garbage out most the time actualy all im saying is when im at a festival I DO NOT GIVE 2 SHITS ABOUT PEOPLE LEAVING GARbAGE AROUND, i pay to have fun dance learn, not be a little B90tch and cry about peoples garbage hahaha some psy people are so sensitive.

thats what i pay to get into your festival for. u pay artists and hire a cleaning crew that also cleans porta pots right or no? and if no one else cleans it you can clean it,

I dont think i got balls for acting like that, i work hard for my money and think when i spend it i expect the servuce it is worth
THIS PARTY IS AMAZING MY COMMENTS ARE IN NO WAY RELATED TO THIS FESTIVAL, just to people complaining about garbage and linking it to ravers lol. how about you guys start a cleaning crew

Orb was way better. The organization might have been shady; but the group that was there were very respectful.

I'm talking about the people and not the orgs...

Oh; and BTW. The deco at Orb killed this party!!!

Orb invested a lot of money in an international deco group. It was WAY cooler than the deco at this fest.

Or, was there any deco here?

The only tapestries I saw were in the Renegade stage!

Honestly I didn't attend this or orb but I kept up on both threads... I am from MN btw.

But to me it just seems like your just trying to point out all the bad in this festival (HATING) to cover up (or push the focus more on this the negative things at this festi) for the shitty stuff that seemed to go on at Orb.

Also I was at Earthdance last yr in WI and I didn't see or meet any methheads. To me from viewing your posts just seems like you have a narrow mind and if anything goes wrong at a different festi you blame it on methheads or drunks or what have you. But maybe I just didn't see em at ED who knows. But then you don't wanna own up to some of the mistakes at Orb making them to seem like a small deal, which it seems the mistakes here were small and it was uncontrollable as you can't really control who wants to attend a party as an attendee anyway. It seems like this to me, because I am reading a lot of positive posts about the trance at this festival and there are some negative comments about drunks and such but most people don't tend to let that ruin an event for them I know I certainly don't. It sounds like for the most part trancers all had a great time.

Also later you say you had your campsite robbed and such at ED last yr... I know that definately should not happen ever, but it does seem to happen occasionally around the US at festivals i've heard about it on forums and such. I'd say this, if your part of the psy community like you are, why not connect with other trancers in the area your travelling to to camp with/near them. I have never heard of anyone being robbed or anything at a psy festival in the midwest that ive been to until your post. But personally my friends try and have someone around the campsite at all times for this reason. Safety in numbers.

But you might not want to find me when you come to the midwest again, you'd probably hate on me as I am a raver and a drunk... But a trancer at heart and most people I think would agree with that.

Peace and Love

Also I guess I should say that yes as it may not be ideal to combine scenes but I know it's hard in MN not to loose your ass if you don't sometimes.

Okay. This is slightly off-topic, but I will address the issue now.

If you recall, Erick, I met you at ED. I remember you with the tie-die shirt and the bottle of vodka.

And PLEASE believe this: I have no problem with drunks. If you know me, you would realize this.

If you don't believe my statements, ask Tyler or ZeroSix or whatever his name is. I travelled all of the way to Wisconsin, from Philly. I had one friend with me. Our campsite got robbed multiple times. We were on the top of the hill. First someone stole our hash-pipe. And then someone stole all the beer out of my cooler. I told Tyler about the incident. I think it was some idiots from Chicago. I know they were Meth-heads because they kept coming around and telling us stupid tweaker stories while they were spun or tweaked or whatever you want to call it.

This happened on the first night we were there. I am not trying to trash that party, I am just speaking about my experience there.

And please don't say we should always leave someone at the campsite. If I go to a party where we have to leave a guard at our camp; then that is a problem.

And if you have really been reading my posts, you will see that I am trying to make suggestions in a constuctive manner.

All of the stupid shit you are saying about me being a "hater" as such, is really dumb.

Isn't a forum a place where we can talk about ideas and opinions and try to make things better for everyone?

If you don't recall who I am Erick, check your MySpace friends for Alakazam. And BTW; the coolest people I met there were a group from Minnie!

It was just one bad group that spoiled the party for me. Once you have your shit robbed, it kills the vibe.

You are the piece of shit type people that make me want to get violent. Why don't you post a picture of yourself, buddy?

Maybe next time, we can meet and have a discussion.

Get the fuck off of this forum. You do not know what trance is all about!!!
