I have to say, 10,000 gold stars for cosmosis. Not only was his music refreshing and energizing, he had a wonderful stage presence. Only one other time have I seen an artist play a sick track and then come out into the crowd and dance to it (Fria) He was fun and watch and dance with. Props to the guitar as well. I'm not so much into guitar trance but he made Jimi and psy beats go well together!
Luis=awesome. This guy never fails to deliver and on that sound system it was double plus good.
I sort of enjoyed yiddish hour on Sunday afternoon, it was funny to see everyone jumping around.
Space tribe's set-though really good, was like a game of freeze dance. I think me and a group of people actually started playing...I lost on the 3rd round
There were many great artist, my review would way too long.
Awww, I miss this festie already, I really had a sweet time!! I hope all the speed bumps can be smoothed out and there will be a sequel but the town folk don't seem to share the same enthusiasm...

I only speak the truth...
And the truth is all that i speak...
And if people want to contest the truth that I speak; it is only because the truth hurts... |

I have never experienced anything like this, except for when I went to Wisconsin for Earthdance last year and everyone was out of their minds on METH!!!!

well thats a offensive load of bullshit and lies there.
I think you sir are not so educated on the effects of various drugs. I was at that party, know most of the Midwest folks, and i call BS and take umbrage to that statement. Any fest is going to have people indulging in certain things but to make such a blanket statement like that, well, thats a pile horse shit.
Most psy trance events have more coke going around them, then a Columbian disco. Not to mention all the psychedelics, molly, etc etc.
While there are tweekers, and maybe you met the dozen or so, out of the 300 people at that show.. maybe. But more so id say your interpretation of kids out of the minds on meth was actually a bunch of kids rolled out on low quality pills... that id believe

Oh really?
I had my campsite robbed and had no-one near me that weren't tweaked out.
You don't know me and please don't make a statement like that.
I think i know what i am talking about.
Maybe you have been partying for a longer time than me, and i respect that.
But don't tell me i don't know what i'm talking about; friend.
As a matter of fact;
I dont know why you would even chime in about this event.
Were you there?
Or what; you think i am just running my mouth?
You are confusing me with this approach, Lawrence... |

lol at some point I heard someone scream at the main stage, "Your cd is skipping!!!"
had a wonderful time, and I made sure not to let the festi-jam kids ruin my party. I was threatened once by the "GDF" though. But it's okay because they didn't know that my friends and I were part of the DPTF/FOPTF (Dark Psytrance Family/Full-on Psytrance Family). I wish I knew that I could've camped near the main stage, because that sketchy field really sucked. That's where it was a drug festival, and a screaming festival. At the end, when people were leaving I heard people fighting and leaving other people there cuz they didn't wanna look for them and threw their shit on the ground and left (2 different groups of ppl). -- But I didn't let it ruin my time. Near the main stage, good vibes were always present from midnight to the afternoon.
Primordial Ooze and Bodhi were great, though I was expecting Bodhi to get a little bit harder. IM wasn't bad, and so did Crystal Method not play afterwards?
But I took a nap after that and woke up for Transdriver. One of my favorite sets of the weekend, his bass was crystal clear, smiles across the dancefloor! It was a beautiful morning. His stage presence was spectacular and just made his set that much better, plus his smirk was adorable. Onkel Donkel was good after that, and so was GOW the next night, but similar sounding.
Ajja was spectacular as everyone had stated. Jellyheadz and Parus killed it though!!!! Their sets we great in the deep dark night. It was cold though for most of the nights esp. Friday night. But getting down on the dancefloor really warmed things up. The dancefloor had a great vibe, really fun a lot of things going on, a billion lights to look at, though I missed the traditional blacklights and deco. It was a nice escape from the sketchy field. Lauryn and Eg-bots set was cool, but the field was kinda hard to dance in. Melorix was great too! Welcome to hell in the morning like someone's set was definitely a highlight. I heard a few mins of Space Tribe but I was completely exhausted at that point.
So, all in all the sketchy field sucked, and the portapotties did too, but really everything else was good for me. I had a spectacular time, and the people that I met were awesome! Had no problems with the orgz or anything! I would go back again, hopefully it won't be on the same weekend as World Bridge V! |

*Warning: over-analytical post, read with a grain of salt and know that I already have full knowledge that I'm a dork.*
Reading this thread is interesting. Although I've known I'm old for quite some time now, it's beyond official now. LOL!
I seriously don't even consider going to any event that I can't leave my car unlocked (if I drive), or leave all my stuff in my tent, or lying around anywhere without a single thought or worry of what will happen to it.
To anyone complaining, ask yourself some questions:
Was this really an attempt to 'bridge communities', or just a convenient way to cash in on both scenes?
Does supporting an event like this (by buying a ticket), noticing, complaining, but ultimately shrugging off all the bad aspects of it, really do anything good?
Doesn't buying into this actually just support the negative scene you're complaining about by helping provide an environment where it can flourish?
Didn't you just associate yourself with all the negativity that came along with this event, and (worse still) associate that scene with yourself and whatever community/scene you hold in higher regard (ie: psy)?
Given your reaction, and the negative impression the event left on the locals (based on the linked article), how successful do you think any positively, well intentioned group of people will be in trying to develop a psy community and events around Herkimer in the future?
Again, by supporting this, did you contribute to helping or harming the psy community/culture?
Reading through this entire thread it's obvious that there were plenty of misgivings, yet people still proceeded to 'buy' into this. It seems marketing and promotion go a long way to tipping people's standards of what they'll participate in regardless of how conscious they may think they are. So this is what we have become?
I honestly don't believe this is the way to open minds. Some things are better left alone. |

Well when I have random ravers constantly in my camp-site with baloons and such;
It gets on my nerves. I can't believe how anyone would attack me for speaking the truth on this forum. Maybe I should post all of the pics we took of the garbage that was left near our campsite.
Not including all of those idiots who fell down into our tent and almost destroyed it...
And to all those who weren't there; please don't chime in... |

And I'll have this discussion with any one of you guys; in person, when we get a chance...
I don't hide behind the internet. I will discuss all of my comments with a real person. Ask Elnadiv. |

wow looked like fun times and nice place to party but also it looks like it could have been a great party with half of the line up they had on there or specific stages for different styles at least. from what I see maybe some better love could have been shown to the pioneer's like Olli Space Tribe. its sad for me to see IM with all the crowd dancing to such magical old school styles, then seeing vid's of Olli being messed with by the sound guys and having a fraction of the dance floor even acting into the music. I admire the will to make something bigger happen in the US, but having such a mix up of music on all over the different stages just seems like overstretching some peoples limits in taste and respect for true art. I've read from the raver forum sites and most of the ravers hate all the psy that was played. so why even invite that side of the community, if the have their own idea in what music should be played at festivals let them stay going to their own festivals. keep underground psy underground!! maybe there was over 1000 people there and thats great for a US party, but most of them were there for the Hype artist and not the Underground and that is sad that there was so little respect shown. onward to the future! kick up some dust!

omg. just forget it! please.
No disrespect. I am sorry you didn't have a good time at the festival.
I had a great time and so did everyone near me.
Like I said before, there is no perfect festival.
Nothing that involves people is ever perfect.
People are like a disease on this planet.
You are no better than anyone.
Organize a better festival if you can or just do not go to festivals at all.
