I admire the will to make something bigger happen in the US, but having such a mix up of music on all over the different stages just seems like overstretching some peoples limits in taste and respect for true art. I've read from the raver forum sites and most of the ravers hate all the psy that was played. so why even invite that side of the community, if the have their own idea in what music should be played at festivals let them stay going to their own festivals. keep underground psy underground!! maybe there was over 1000 people there and thats great for a US party, but most of them were there for the Hype artist and not the Underground and that is sad that there was so little respect shown. onward to the future! kick up some dust!

I agree as well. At least for me, it really takes away from my good time when I see that the land is being disrespected. There were people cleaning constantly and did a pretty good job, although I didn't even go into the main camping area the whole weekend, so I feared for what that might look like. If the idea is to (as Madpsyintist put it) avoid loud and obnoxious people, then certain acts wouldn't have been invited. They attract a certain crowd, and they act a certain way. It was a valiant effort, but maybe a different approach is in order. I personally enjoyed the bands that played, although I can't say the same for how people who came to see the bands felt about the psy. I liked the attempt for intellectual exploration, although i didn't know when any of the workshops were, except pinchbeck because he told me. I didn't know when MY workshop was supposed to be!!
I digress. I met a lot of nice people at the fest and overall I think it was a success. There are bad apples in every bunch. Even psy people. Some random dude came up and bullied me off stage to spin after me when he was not on the schedule at all. He was a psy-person, possibly drunk, but nonetheless, we aren't perfect either as a community.

alakazam you seem to be hatting.
you could have taken your stuff and moved to the other side of the party where all the adults were camping.
you dont have to go through anything that does no please you.
it is all about choice.

When you say hatting, I assume you mean hating?
If I was hatting, I would be the Mad Hatter.
Please clarify on how you think I am hating? |

wowzers....
whats this bisco you speak of? just joking....the band aint that bad, for a band of junkies....but the followers are constantly and consistently the dirtiest group of nomadic trustifarians this side of the pond...they didnt play @ Desiderata, did they? I assume when you say Bisco kids, you mean northeastern suburban hippie kids with drug problems, or were they actually around talking about the disco biscuits? ....as far as the Crystal Method, whom, when they played George's on Dickson in Fayetteville LITERALLY DANCED ON MY CD-JS, what the fuck did you expect? Other than that, I'm trying to find out the REAL drawing force that brings these people out....is it the simple idea of raves, now also "festivals", have a UNDESERVED and DANGEROUS reputation of being a form of TAZ where for some reason drug sales seem tolerated if not decriminilized/ in some situations (NO psy festivals I'm thinking of, I'm talking about 10,000+ person jam festivals) REGULATED drug sales within the festival community
It sucks, and most of us have learned for the better before the cups have runneth over, to completely DISCOURAGE illegal vending and vending of illegals, as it may be, but it seems to be too much of an uphill battle for those of us who DO NOT invite drug dealers....where do these fuckers think they live?
Rant over....but seriously

I have no problem with drugs or drug-dealers; as long as they are semi-professional and respectful.
Your drugs must be really shitty if you have to walk into everyone's campsite and offer them to strangers without even introducing yourself or trying to be friendly.
I don't know what type of tweaker parties these guys go to; but I never want to be a part of them.
I grasped onto psychedelic trance music; not only because I like the music, but because there is a level of mutual respect between trancers.
What scene are these idiots from? Someone please tell me so that I can avoid it like the plague! |

I truly wish I did not camp in tweeker town because then maybe I would not feel such disgust and this deep feeling of sorrow from what surrounded me. I am hoping I can shake it soon, but it lingers... I only wanted to camp with my car, so my stuff wouldn't get stolen. If I knew better I wouldn't have camped there, but I never went to a jam festival, I had no idea what I was in store for...
I can't even go into anything else, there were good things there were bad, but I expected that. Why can't there just be stages? no need for a main stage, give all stages the same love and attention.. |

They are from the bisco scene. And please don't prejudge all bisco fans. I'm a huge huge huge bisco fan and i know plenty of other awesome, friendly and non scumbag bisco fans. It just happens that everyone makes their judgments on the dirty ass douchebags that need to go make their money by selling drugs blatently and in a rude manner....
Yes the bisco scene sucks, but please don't put the label on all fans. I'm an educated individual with a pleasant attitude and always friendly yet i am SADLY part of that 'scene' as i love the band and the music they make in addition to psy. |

Okay; I have nothing against the Biscuits as a group. Hell; I am from Philly, as are they.
I am just trying to figure which scene this group is from...
The amount of garbage left around brought tears to my eyes and made me want to pack up and leave early.
I have never experienced anything like this, except for when I went to Wisconsin for Earthdance last year and everyone was out of their minds on METH!!!!
But even the mid-west tweakers cleaned up after themselves.
This shit was RIDICULOUS!!!! |

yes the kids are fucking slobs, don't clean up after themselves and generally don't give a fuck about anyone around them. while they are not tweakers as meth isn't very popular in that 'scene', they just combine as many drugs as possible dmt, k, mdma, etc to make them zombies and thus why they don't clean up afterthemselves. |

Yes; the trustifarians who have a pocket full of money from Mommy and Daddy; but still need to sell drugs because they think it is cool.
I hate a mother-fucker who has his bills paid for by his parents; but decides he needs to be a fake-ass drug dealer so that he can make more money to support his and his friends habits and make himself appear cooler to weak-minded partiers.
Oh, you're a drug dealer? Oh! You must be cool! Come hang with us!!!
I only want to hang with drug dealers because they are so fucking cool! |

Orb was way better. The organization might have been shady; but the group that was there were very respectful.
I'm talking about the people and not the orgs...
Oh; and BTW. The deco at Orb killed this party!!!
Orb invested a lot of money in an international deco group. It was WAY cooler than the deco at this fest.
Or, was there any deco here?
The only tapestries I saw were in the Renegade stage!
