I like this style very much but it's hard to find information about.

yeah, sometimes it's quite underground and you have to watch all the psy forums, artist facebook pages, etc.

great news: release date and previews for Zenon Records' Mechanics Of Awakening: http://bit.ly/ZENCD025CD

thanx for mentioning GTRec =)

VA Poems was our second official release after the Radioactive.Cake PopArt EP. Both are available on Beatport, Junodownload, iTunes etc...all of those shops.

After having those two releases in Music Download Shops i realized that people rather downloaded our stuff the "illegal" way. So I decided to put the music on Ektoplazm under Creative Commons Licence, for everbody to have for free.

From then we released Pick's EPs, Vaeya's album, Xenoscapes' album, both Micro Cosmos' and VA Perun + both of my Zeitgeist albums there...

long story short: no CDs available......
......yet......I don't know, we might just give away some for free in the future...

zenon is real nice but id like a Tripiatrik ... paps/yumade etc sort of revival .. a lot of that sounds so much better than any new stuff and you'd have a tough time getting deeper/chunkier/darker/more organic/minimal than that

interesting point. i hardly know any psytrance from 1999-2004 so i checked a few samples from the artists you mentioned. it certainly is dark and deep music, so you could see a connection between those and artists like Hypogeo, Cujorious One, etc.

but i don't see any clear origin of the more organic sounds. my impression is that Tetrameth "invented" this style in 2004/2005 possibly together with his brother Shadow Fx, and that this sound inspired other artists like Grouch, Merkaba, etc. maybe i'm totally wrong, but that's how it looks to me.

Tetrameth's style it's pretty cool, altough i feel that he abuses from Samples to build up the story, it's his "style" and not a complete reference for the Zenon Crew Style, i think a Huge and old Inspiration for them was music from the Bigwigs Duo           DJ of Sourcecode

i agree, that's possible. also old releases by Crotus Records (before they were taken over by Plusquam) may have been a source of inspiration. probably many artists/tracks of the minimal trance style generally.

anyway, i would like to thank you all for keeping this thread alive. isratrance rulez!

i agree, there is nothing around these days that compares to the old stuff (circa 2003) that used to get released on Creamcrop, Iboga and by the french crew (Paps, Yumade, Tripiatrik etc.)

Im always searching for it though...would love to make a revival of this sound on Zenon.

And yes Tetrameth did have some influence from Big Wigs in the past...as did myself...BigWigs Rulez!!!

some news:

http://soundcloud.com/productplacement :
i was very surprised to see that several tracks are unreleased and can be downloaded as WAV!

TETRAMETH stated on soundcloud: "Looking @ releasing a sneaky E.P later this year. Hopefully round late June/July. But nothing in stone just yet." ...let's hope he will!

Robert Zooch (Arkona Creation) said that VA - Javanese Peacock should be released in June: http://bit.ly/lrf2Wo

Nolan Shmolan said that VA - Low Frequency Oscillators (Arkona Creation) will be announced soon, hopefully before July. this comp will include tracks by Grouch, Merkaba, Reactant, and others!

Electric Power Pole Records added VA - The Martin Fitzgerald File to their bandcamp site, for free download.
