hi

i think this style (Zenon Records, etc) deserves a topic, so people can discuss releases/artists/news/developments of this great style of psytrance. for me Zenon Records in 1st place, but (occasionally) also other labels like Cosmic Conspiracy, Bio-Sine, Up Records, Soundkraft, Occulta, etc give us the most psychedelic music around. i hope people who love this style will keep this thread alive and discuss/inform each other about news of this particular style of psytrance.

check my latest mix of that style if you like:
http://forum.isratrance.com/goa-getter-dimethylrhythmine-progressive-aussie-style/ -> scroll down

-------------------------------------------

well, i have 1 additional request atm: if anybody has this CD: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Zero-Point-Energy/release/2843390 and is willing to sell it, please let me know. i would pay a good price for it. thanks.

--------------------------------------------

interesting upcoming releases:

Pspiralife debut album
Mechanics Of Awakening (Zenon)
Javanese Peacock (Arkona Creation)
Phobophobia (Cosmic Conspiracy)
One Tasty Morsel's 2nd album
...and more

peace!

Hi! I enjoy this style too. Perhaps you will also like some of the Glitchy.Tonic Records stuff, even if it is not an Aussie label. I find some of the stuff slots in nicely with Sensient and similar.

There are also nice free releases from them with artists like radioactive.cake:

Lots of promising artists there that could slot into some of your sets.

of course, when i spotted their 'Various Poems' release, i bought it immediately. it's good, but it didn't fully satisfy me. 3/5 i would say. not "organic" enough. but many artists/labels get better and better, so i will certainly keep observing this label.           https://www.mixcloud.com/ake_melting_runes

I'm sure you know of the awesomeness that is Hedonix but I figured it was worth it to make the post if you don't, because...yeah super awesome stuff.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

in my opinion Hedonix style is somehow between progressive and regular psytrance. but yes, they certainly have lots of outstanding tracks.           https://www.mixcloud.com/ake_melting_runes

...isn't Zenon records 'somehow between' progressive and regular psytrance?            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Zenon Records is "progressive psytrance". Hedonix is between "progressive psytrance" and "regular psytrance". at least that's how i see it. of course you can always discuss about styles. 10 people have 10 different opinions i guess           https://www.mixcloud.com/ake_melting_runes

I recommend checking out Glitchy.Tonic.Records and Uroboros Records for more of this sound:

I wish the Zenon style had some other name... it's not progressive psytrance the way Symphonix is, nor is it techtrance like Opsy and Excizen. Seems to me like the dominant aesthetic is "organic" but even that term has limitations...

oh yes, i totally agree. the aussie/nz progressive style is totally different to the european style. actually i think that labels like Blue Tunes, Spintwist, etc may offer good trance music, but it's not what i call psychedelic.

Basilisk, i'm visiting your site all the time. those 2 labels are indeed very interesting. a little too hard/dark sounds for my taste sometimes, but certainly great labels. thanks for your great site btw.

my personal top 5 artists are (atm, in no particular oder): Shadow Fx (i hope for a 2nd album some day), Tetrameth, Merkaba, Grouch, OneTastyMorsel

why don't we call it...Real minimal Psytrance?

i agree, Uroboros and Glitchy Tonic still have a Darker Stronger Sound, while Zenon People it's in the Middle of all... Zenon People is Dance...          DJ of Sourcecode
