Sounds great. Especially the sample of "Goa Sunrise", that a lot of people have been talking about - beautiful oldschool melody. And a well chosen title if I might add

hi everybody, quick rewiew of deedrah album...

Deedrah
Body & Soul
Spun (Ibiza / USA)

If you’re pressed for time this review basically goes... new direction, new
sound, dark and light, buy it. One of the most impressive trance CV’s
(transwave, synthetic, deedrah) belongs to Dado who, from his white island
lair, has just single-handedly evolved psytrance in a way that’s not likely
to become apparent for some time yet. The presentation and artwork is
deceptive – deep within here is the harsh kickboxing of deedrah and the
ethereal fluffy goan spirituality (there, i said it) of transwave. Body,
meet Soul. Yin, meet Yang. Siegfried, meet Roy (meet tiger.) Okay so the
last one’s a red herring but what psyreviews was almost getting at is that
this is a marriage of Dark and Light, like listening to Wagner while
watching Neighbours, waving a glowstick about at a funeral, whacking off
while reading Kirekegaard, and so forth. Which this music really seriously
needed folks (not whacking off while reading Kirekegaard, but the
combination of juxtaposed styles)– soundsystem goes fluffy, the darkheads go
to the bar, frowning. Soundsystem goes dark, and the fluffyheads scamper off
merrily like something out of Watership Down, except mostly nobody gets run
over. Body & Soul represents a real turning point – could it just manage to
unify our scene?
Whatever, it’s not possibe to bang on about the significance or quality of
this album enough. Hefty bottom ends, basslines that are busier than a
mushroom dealer at an outdoor lunar eclipse party, sweet topend melodic
flurries to please the seratonin receptors, genuinely imaginative samples,
more surprises than lsd in the camp david water supply, and production
that’s among the best we’ve ever witnessed. Psyreviews has said naff all
about the music itself, psyreviews knows this, but psyreviews bought it
rather than got sent it so psyreviews can say whatever psyreviews likes.
Because, for once this is an artist album more than the sum of its parts.
And anyway, at a risk of sounding gay, deedrah’s parts themselves are really
rather spectacular. Courtesy of www.psyreviews.com

to Dado:

I like your album very much - it's kind of fresh sounding and really it is a combination of dark & light which is (I hope) a new trand in psytrance. Most of all I liked goa sunrise, but all the tracks are very good!

BUT you fucked up the mastering!!! Listen to the whole CD in one go, and you'll see that tracks 5 & 9 are much more quiet than the others (approx 13dB while others have like 9dB RMS). In both cases this is - I think - due to very loud spoken samples at the begining of mentioned tracks. Why oh why you had to do the mastering yourself (at least that's what inlay says)?!?! It's always better to have it made by somebody who haven't heard the tracks before and is considering a whole CD as a product and not just single tracks!!!

Sorry for this, but it pisses me off when otherwise fantastic album is ruined like this. We should demand a fixed CD replacement

to Dado himself!

Yes! Ruining 4dB RMS! And I'm gonna tell you why...

Here in Poland there are no psy-trance CDs in shops at all and I have to buy them over Internet, while you probably get most of them free from labels / artists. Comparing the average sallary in my country and high exchange ratio from PLN to EUR or $ the CDs are probably 3 or 4 times more expensive for me than to average EU citizen. Though I still buy them, like 2-3 per month, even though I have access to Internet via ADSL connection and I could easily download all the stuff I wanted... So, for me every new CD is like a christmas gift and that's why I expect to receive the finished product for my hard earned money. I buy original CDs to get the best possible sound quality, I buy them for the inlay, for the smell and feel of it and - last but not least - to let the musicians earn their money, because I love this music and I want them to cuntinue doing it.

So it pisses me off when somebody doesn't pay attention to what they releasing. And especially this goes to the artist albums, because most often I listen to it in one go - from start to finish and I simply do not like to tweak volume every now and then, just because the guy who mastered it was to lazy to check the whole album. I can understand that sometimes it's not possible to make all the trakcs sounding equal (especially when the album consist of new and old tracks recorded in different studios / enviornments / setup), but that is not the case with your CD, because I fixed it in SoundForge within 10 minutes and there is no audible artifacts or distortions...

So to sum it up. I really like your CD and I think some tracks are wonderful, but for me it's like buying the car with one wheel smaller than the others - it will take you where you want, but it's not the kind of ride I expected

hello antic;
i don t really know what to say to you except that the volume of the groove shadow track is the one i wanted.i had two mastered versions of this track and one was sounding better than the other, with less volume though.i picked up the one i liked i don t see any good reason not to do so.
what you did in soundforge is maybe good for you, probably not for me!and guess whose album it is!
now if you feel pissed of and fooled because you have this kind of troubles i m deeply sorry honestly and if i have the chance to come to play in poland one day,(i m from poland myself),i ll be very happy to get a ride in your car and change the volume with my very own hands for ya!!!
Love from ibiza.

antic is absolutely right and finally l'm glad to listen to an honest opinion and not ass-licking from ignorant wanabes.l could have played them a bruce springsteen track and by only saying is deedrah they would have said A M A Z I N G.. (l hope mr dadoski understands what l mean about the loosers hanging out everyday in this forum )
to conclude my opinion: album is niceee, musicaly and where it takes u but....
it has been done very quick and without care,, we can hear that.. and ofcource we never expect that from somebody all want to follow..
mr dadoski u shouldn't patronise antic, he has given some constructive opinion and spoken with words that are R E A L.
big up
