i know this subject have been discused many times befor but i guss that almost no one here in israel took it to his attention and as we are about to open summer 2004 i think this issue should be brought up and i would like to hear your opinion about it.
"good party" includes many parameters... such as good sound system, good music, good crowd and many more and i think that organizers leaves the subject of decoration which is very imporent imo...
a party should look like a party, rich of powerful colors (and the great landscape of nature ofcourse) that makes you feel like in heaven, unfortunatly, i can count the number of parties in israel with good deco on one hand.
i have been in wonderful parties with almost no deco but i think its a part of showing respect to the crowd that an organizer took a place with nothing and turn it to something unreal.
you can call me matirialistic or any nickname you want but in my opinion its a very importent part of the magic we feel in parties.
correct me if im wrong, but i think that some of you organizers forgeting this and give it a minor thought and see it as not importent... i feel like its kind of disrespect in the crowd.
what i would like to know from the organizers between of you is why are you giving almost no thought to the decorations? why do i have to see abroad and few here in israel magnificent parties which EVERY parameter including DECO is a major subject
while here you are giving it almost no thought?
organizers who do parties with lots of effort in the deco... does it make you feel better to see your party like this and to know you took care of everything to make your party unforgetable?

tell me... is deco importent to you? cause if not maybe its just me who loves it...
would the party be better (leave alone for a second the sound music and crowd issue) if there is deco? (im not talking about one backdrop behind the dj)
tell about parties with good deco and how did you feel. link pictures if you can...
i just want to understand why is it like this...

Deco should be an inmportant part of any party.
I bet it could also bring more people to your parties (if you have superb deco people would take that under consideration). |

i totaly understand where its coming from.
but i think its some kind of "the good old days... ohhhhh, how much we miss them" symptom.
you described exactly a tipical "good old party".
i must agree that orgenizers here dont give a shit about deco. and sure, its disrespect to the croud to put up few longies, lights and close the deal.
i see this issue as black and white, leave the place 100% decoless... all nature, or pull up a kul deco... work some extra hours. from my experience, the decoration was the most fun thing in orgenizing
i guess im having the same symptom 
n e way, i just got "used" to crapy deco... the kind of "lets put up some stuff so ppl wont say we didnt had deco" deco

its not just "the good old days" (well... a little bit )
but check out abroad parties
there are good decorated parties! this is happaning now...
why cant i see it here in israel?
this is so simple, i want organizers to stop doing us a favor and start working on deco. for us and for them... they are just ruin themselfes.

i think decoration is very important . it sure changes the looks of a party. but...
sometimes it`s not even needed.
been to parties with no deco where the view and the ppl were enough... and deco wouldn`t have made a diffrence. depends on the party i guess...
but overall it`s realy great to have good deco ....
especially for those chemical amped ravers...
gotta admit most parties in israe have boring decorations...
i`m sick of seeing mushrooms at every party....
if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

you are right parapsyched, some parties are just perfectly located that deco is a minor addition but as you said most of the parties have boring deco
and those mushrooms... its even the same god damn mushrooms

Decoration is important. But it depends on the way u think a party. That's why sometimes we get really nice party's whith "low budget"...
On the other hand if we think a party as an xperienzzz, it is clear that a decoration special care is needed.
I've seen very good decors but in the last years decor seem to be loosing its coherence. There are to many themes in each part of the decor. If u have a strong "theme" or idea to inspire the trancers for a party, everything should be connected. The music, the place, decor...
All of this is xpensive, i don't c any other reason stoping organisers from doing it
The old days wont came back, but there are also the new ones to CARPE and create( there is an echoe after create)

not true at all. it doesn't have to be expensive at all. just a little bit creativity and ok hands will do the job.

It is true that some decors can be made with cheap materials, but the common creativity doesn't get so far. As musicians decorators should be completly in the spirit, but there r a lot clichés that r not abandoned.
RECYCLE People and Thougts, so that we can go forward.

Decor is important. In the begining the ancient tribes used also some kind of decor. Actually it served to evoque things that were important to them. And to get closer to some kind of feelings. Of course trees and flowers r the best decor but we moved forward, nowadays we can go a lot further than before ,thats where the idea of a complete party xperienzz gets in.
For where i'm standing the number of party's should be half of what it is, and it's quality should be the double.
Lets fight for it.
Choose well when and where u go trance.

some parties have that sweet sweet locat when i can say that your argue with "no deco is needed" is true.
parapsyched said it perfectly.
but, when the same place is over used, and organizers throw a party... i dont know about you guys but when i se one backdrop here and there it makes me feel like its some kind of dissrespect.
have you ever seen a picture of a party that looks like something that never exist on earth?
im sure that this pic was with no deco at all but amazing amazing locate or some deco when you can actualy see that the organizers did their best to create such a place....
and im sure you've been in one also.
in this issue, i dont want to include the parameters of music, crowd and all the rest. just the deco issue.

Through trance we can go to places we don't go very often. It's like theatre. If we have a text and 2people saying it we can get the message , but if we have a good stage set with it we can get to the text's time, location, feeling, etc. In this case the ritual can be complete, just like trance, it is a Ritual before anything and there's nature as our "church". Maybe if we think this as a sacred thing ALL THE TIME we can really get the meaning of it.
There r somethings that nature didn't give but that the human being found within himself. Some good some bad and he can represent them by drawing, painting, sculpting... and in the end he can also look at them and remember from where it came and what it does to him and passing this message he takes other ppl to the same places... This might be important.
