Nice to see the oldschool vibe still prevails.. esp Domino haven't seen her since 2000 but nice to see her still playing DATs. Everybody used to be mad for them back in Japan in the day. I still have a couple of hundred in a draw at home-many unreleased still to this day. You have to remember they still sound pretty wicked when played digitally at 48000khz, has a metalic kind of sound-not that cheap MP3 sound! |

Where to get dat from nowadays? The only place I see it being used and at that very infrequently is in the movie audio industry...
I wonder how many labels even deal at all with dat???
As to why Dat, I presume because they have 48k sampling rate capability and some folks think it sounds better maybe?
Not that it does...
I still have my Tascam dat, after 12 years it still works like a charm, can you believe it... just never seem to get around to put all those nice oldies onto a harddrive...
