Flake_of_Freedom I don't share your "proof fanatism", in fact I don't really get what exactly you want to be prooven.
I was just writing my thoughs...
But yeah, you are demanding that people should "proof and varify", so just forget about my post, since it doesn't seem to be of relevance for you.           "*´¨)

Xenomorph …full on?! And what about Qlippoth, Cassandras Nightmare…full on?! I think you need an ear check traveler…

You remained me someone that asked me if I know some DARK FULL ON artists… wtf?!
Full on and dark has nothing to do with each other! So stop invent new stupid (!)genres categorize dark as full on and the opposite….

See Flake the problem with proof for the first, or pioneering dark trance is very difficult, because as I said earlier this style has always been more underground and a lot of the old dark stuff never got released and is only available on tapes.
One of the oldest dark trance tracks I can think of is Tribal Ghost-The message. It got released 1990 on a compilation called Techno Club Vol2.
Worth checking out, there are other interesting tracks on it too.

Black Sabbath
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Bathory
Napalm Death

these are all metal groups and I would be willing to bet that at least half of the dark producers out there were heavily influenced by at least one of these pioneers musically...

as far as the industrial groups go, I think they just spawned off of these monumental metal acts.

a little off topic, but do many psytrancers listen to the new black metal sound I wonder... I know the Russian producers have to at least be aware of this genre with it being so dominant in Russia...

Very much off topic thegooddale coz it doesn’t prove anything…
So what if I or any other people hear also other genres… it doesn’t point that they were the first to do dark… what is your point?
Btw, sorry but I don’t see any connection between –
Grindcore, Death Metal, Black Metal, Viking/Thrash Metal, modern rock, Heavy metal, NWOBHM, Heavy/Traditional, Doom Metal and metal in general (!) …to what we know today as darkpsy!!
If you want to talk about roots then it will help if you will know what you talking about man. For more info go read the general section in isratrance.com or any other source. You will see that trance music roots didn’t develop from metal (!) but from the new wave (don’t have the power to go and start explaining this to you now).

Peace out

I think that thegooddale has a point here, worth thinking about.
The roots of trance music in general, are not lying in metal, but I think, that many young producers of darkpsy nowadays, have been, or are still listening to metal.
You still might say it is not the roots, but imo you have to see it as part of the insparition for what is darkpsy today.           "*´¨)

Ok look
If u2 think metal is the source that from it darkpsy developed… please prove it.
Ways doing that:
1. You can ask parasence (I think they members here..) what music they used to hear back then (around the year 2000) coz that was the year they worked on their first project.
2. Direct to specific lyrics / tracks / albums / bands / whatever in the pioneer darkpsy movement that have been using metal elements in it / and was influenced in a way we can say that they really was influenced.

There are more ways I’m sure you can think ‘bout yourself.

Keep it going
