i was wondering......what is real difference between dark and morning....? i mean i can tell hardcore dark tracks and full on morning ones.....but there are so many i cant figure out.....is it the bass lines? the sounds? or just the vibe of the entire track? (this would be really abstract)
transition and twilight i have ABSOLUTELY no idea. whats the difference? whats the difference? can some one please take a little time out and provide a decent explantion so i can differ nxt time? thanks
Also what is progressive?

PS : pls name artists and tracks for examples

k.. this is my opinion about what kinda tracks these are.

Twilight/ Aphid Moon - Superfly
(smooth and a lil less intense of the bpm, also got that 'im gearing u up for a change in style' feeling. This one is great to play between a change in dj's from a warm up to the main nighttime dj)

Dark/ CPC - Flaish
( has a sweeping feeling of being enveloped in a cocoon. Falling in this dark, dense underground with a repetitive array of fx, usually a gong or something. Constant but shifts a lot with some acidic fx thrown in. I like this track because it culminates with a guitar piece thats really heavy, but doesnt climax with some fabulous guitaring, but still shows u another way or door if u please)

Transition/ Terminator - Scary Boubles (Dark rmx)
( something that has a thick heavy pounding bassline and which has this mystical feeling with some 'sunrise faintly appearing' fx. Like a sweeter sound , more crisp and clean but still having that relentless pace the gritty night stuff usually does)

Morning/ Filteria - Navigate
(I'm personally fond of the old school style so Filteria is one of my fav's. This track has got that power morning, digital, scritchy sunrise feeling that i love. Very acidic and super fast... )

Transition/ Cosma - People on Hold.
(perfect to play before a progg dj who is following up. Thick bassline but also got that mystical, spiritual feeling that can move u)

Progg/ Sensient - Tropicana
(less bpm.. chunky feeling to the whole track.. i like this one coz of its techy touches.. and its always sounding fresh. Need that after a hard night off pounding and this track has that rythm)

I think tracks like Shinjhitzu and A good day to die etc by Azax were at that point considered dark. But when I hear them now they don't sound as dark as I used to think. Dark Psytrance has evolved so much that so much of the earlier music sounds different.

*yawn* its all the same... what difference does it make. half the people who are dancing in front of those blowing loud speakers dont know their arse from a hole in the ground!           Nothing is said that has not been said before.

The fact is there's no difference. Ambient is "night music" to me. It's all in your opinions, others really don't matter.

The perfect Dark to Light transition track has to be Human Blue-Harmonix. It's all heavy and then these beautiful little melodies start seeping in. And it works on the dancefloor-seen someone do it.

Hmmm......has any one heard the compilation Deep MentalTrauma Part 1 The First Gram? It includes the following tracks :
catatonic_despair_-_skin_and_salt
baphomet_engine_-_antas_acoc_sod_sergalim
celsung_-_tri_assasin_dont_die
celsung_-_broken_butterfly
strezz_-_lyserg_saeure_diaethylamid
catatonic_despair_-_flicker
noise_gust_-_summon_spell
acid_goblins_vs_datakult_-_bohemian_groove
catatonic_despair_-_rusty_edge
infect_insect_-_smoke_plastic

I'm quite sure this is all dark music. Some of these tracks are quite haunting. A couple are just noisy.

Isnt seroxat also dark? Tahavoohoo is so different. How would you classify these tracks?

Also how would you classify these tracks?

And what catagory would you put rinkadink_-_jedi_vibes in?
