Hey guys and gals. I've been learning how to produce and investing in gear for a while now and I've been making some, well, kinda crappy full on sounds (i still love the style tho). I'm really interested in starting to innovate and write some harder night music. The problem is I've been a bit slack on the party going for a year or so, and I've missed out on all this great new music to inspire me.

I'd love a few pointers in the "dark arts" albums and artists of the day, especially if they're coming out of (but not limited to!) Aus.

I've heard a few good artists already, like void, damage, dark soho, dark nebula, Hefty output.

much appreciated. looking forward to rainbow!

Man, that's pretty cool.

What equipment are you using?

Was going to suggest listening to Dark Nebula for great Oz "Dark" psy, but it sounds like you already have...

Good job...

Israel, the U.S, UK, Europe, Australia, Africa. so many places, labels and artists! Truely a global phenomenon. Some amazing new tunes out there. *dreams of making some too*

Very inspiring.

I just saw Xenomorph, Kindzazda, Wizac Twizac and Naked tourist in a party in stockholm!!! Best dark psy line up i have ever been to. All highly recomended

Also as Shimmer said "Devils mind records". A new swedish label should be releasing a new album soon, could be one to look out for!!

Hey Steve_J.. Thanks for mentioning us.. I have no idea how I ended up here in the Aussie forum... We're actually 1½ year old... We're pushing out our second compilation any week now, depending on how fast the pressing plant is working.. Preview cuts and such are available at our website...

All the best and thanks again...

And by the way, speaking of nightmusic and Australia, check out Scatterbrain's album "Infernal Angel" - still a classic!            Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden
www.dvsmrecords.org - 'Patterns II EP' by Silent Horror out now!

yay ghregonearth is definitely one of the best...making super intelligent dark music with an industrial edge...a great guy from my home town too..

i have a question for you aussies..
i'm planning on moving to melbourne soon and am not seeing many parties with this style of trance. do they exist?
these days i'm listening to a lot of deviant species, phatmatix, entropy and shift. i'm just hoping i'll be able to hear these artists at parties down under? any info ?

They do exist. The Tribeadelic promoters have some pretty cool parties. Last year they hosted Rinkadink, CPU, Dark Nebula, and Mr. Peculiar. Shift hasn't played here for a while now...hoping that (although he has a BUSY schedule) he tours this year...           _______________________________-______________________________

somatica put on parties in melbourne that are based on this type of music. Tribeadelic focus more on the fullon sound, rather than the darker stuff you are after.

Next Somatica's an outdoor on Easter Saturday
