Luiz,
This is part of trance for me and I think that this kind of discussions are the chance for trance to change something that will echos in iternity (like 60's Rockn'Roll). Now, the title of this forum is trance isn't it? |

I wish you were right. I think you are wrong though, but it is up to us, we can make it even bigger if we will belive. From outside - it looks the same. From inside - we still have a long way to go. Things are too general. Of course that slogans like PLUR, Sharing etc.. are excepted by everybody but they are just slogans. Most of the discussions always stay in the "slogan level".
There are deep and interesting discussions about "prgressive trance - for and against" or "This DJ can or can not mix" etc. I have learned a lot about music from those discussions and therfore I respect and thank the experts on those subjects that shared with us here their vast knowleadge.
But what about the soul of trance. Some ppl claim that it is just "the science of finding the exact tune that will make everybody dance together". I respect ppl that think like that (some of them are personal friends) but this is absolutly not what the 60's were - lets not lay to ourselves.
The 60's has their poets (Ginsberg is the most famous) Their writers (William S. Burroughs
, Jack Kerouac etc) etc. The music was a reaction to what was happening in the world, to the evil and misfortune of others, and not just a creation of alternative world where we escape to. Having a place where you can escape to is important, but don't full yourself - It won't change the real world (the 60's beat generation did).

I think trance is way too underground to achieve sth of the magnitude you are talking about.
I think when we look back in time ppl won't see trance as a major driving force for change in society. Probably eletronic music may be seen as that, but not trance alone. Too small, too underground.

heavy talk assafi! well u right in that its in the slogens level ..
in the 60's ppl didnt work or do anything beside protest about what they tought its important..it was real revolution .,..
i for myself dont believe in the plur things anymore
its all fake anyway
thats the truth
but i really likes the music.
i think it makes the weird ppl to meet
cuzz trance is not major yet so it pull the outsider ppl together!
thats what i like about it!
