I still remember a time back then when innocent happy music lovers from all over gathered at not-so-known locations somewhere along the highway to dance to 145 beats per minute thrown at them by a DJ.

There used to be one every weekend on Saturday nights- Groups of enthusiastic kids in their cars excitedly following directions on the print-out of a map circulated to a secret few would get to the place eventually by following the sound of the music.

The only kind of music that deserves to be heard only outdoors, around mountains and trees.

Gone are the days, and with it, our freedom!           Nothing is said that has not been said before.

hear hear man, 2003 to 2005 were the golden years for me, the scene was still familiar till 2009. After that, its just gone downhill.

Searching out that 'outdoor scene' just not the same anymore.           no matter where I go the music keeps me going

freedom disappeared when greed took precedence as the most important value. it's done very differently today and definitely more than once a week like back in the day. too bad it's not the same for us who partied in the wild, but from what i've seen the new generation seem like like how it's done today, and they like their trance mixed and merged with dubstep, electro, progressive, bollywood ...

unity at last ? though that stigma of psytrance still remains, i find that bit the most annoying. you still can't play the music without some idiot shouting rave rave.

am waiting for the day that psytrance as a genre becomes completely homogeneous with the rest of EDM, and in a way India's made big steps to make that happen.

hey Yidam, Forest... dunno why i just decided to visit this forum after years and then collided with this thread.

Would like to leave my two-pence — everything changes, for good and otherwise, but it is up to us to either stop and bicker, or find another way.

Wonder if this is what's going through your mind Forest coz I had a similar beef: 'I am losing my partying years'.

But, hey!, what I have come to figure is that the music never goes silent inside you, so what the opportunities to let it out, especially the nice wala, decrease.

Yes, there was the time when the music was loud and mountains proud to host us, but then cops figured busting rich, 'good-family' kids is both money and media. What can anyone do about that, but to move on, find alternatives, perhaps break into smaller search parties, armed with memory mirrors to catch reflections of those big moments.

Yidam, I doubt psy will ever truly lose its identity, but I also equally doubt if it will forever keep the same one.

Change is inevitable, but true love never dies.
