Hello everybody,

I´d like to share with you a doubt that bothers me about eletronic music festivals...

How do we choose which time to eat, to sleep, to interact and know another people...

There are always so many good artists presenting themselves that in the last UP I just couldn´t get my ass out of the dancefloor...

It was 126 hours of music and I was in the dancefloor for 75, and coudn´t see all the lives and sets that I wanted. In the end of the festival I had the feeling that I could have enjoyed it better if I met more people and participated of other killargh activities that happend...

Me thinks this a very cruel decision to make... which artist do ignore, which event to ignore, which time to sleep...

I would like some tips from the more experienced as to how enjoy one festivals the most...

cheers

this is a luxury problem imagine how u would feel if they would stop every day for 8-10 hours, like rockfestivals... What do u like more? I love the fact that psytrance festivals keep going 24/7... U'll just have to prioritise, there is no other real solution
(taking amphets is a solution too, but not a good one unless ur young (but over 18) and still at school... those are the years to try different things and beat up ur body without having to fear retribution of ur body although goa gils body keeps hanging on apparently... but we can't all be built like keith richards... )

yeah.. it's not easy to choose.. i tend to go with the flow.. in the end i have missed the set i most strongly anticipated and have been happily surprised and treated in a music area i assumed would not do it for me.. not to mention many hours through long tunnels (um, a tent is tricky thing) only to come out into the light.. no regrets.. happy travels people, physically and otherwise.. karo

I keep switching the music. I make a list of all the acts i cannot do without and those are the ones i never miss. After about 6 - 7 hours of dancing i take a breather and head to the chill section and take a nap or go back to the tent and rest for a few hours. After that i get some fruits and water and chill by myself in some corner for like half an hour or even an hour and its really all about time management. Maybe meet up with the people who I arrived with or some friends i know, but otherwise its a very private experience for me mostly. Its the music i come along for so i dont usually socialize that much at festivals apart from a few conversations in and around the fire or fruit stalls.
And hell, no better way to make friends that by lighting up a chillum!!           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

i prefer to indulge in sleep deprivation
at festivals, the key is to stay up when ur really sleepy and push urself to fatigue...and lots of water and juices...avoid solid food and dairy products...drink beer instead. when ur about to collapse go round and round on the dancefloor for a while and disorient ur mind feel dizzy then collapse. dhud! on the floor. people will help you and take you to their tents and try to revive you...under no circumstances wake up...take the opportunity to sleep and then pretend to be dazed and confused. ask things like "what happened" and "where am i, wheres the flying cabbage pigmy?" . those who revive will you will tell u to rest for a while and will keep coming bak to check on u...this way u will not miss out on the opportunity of meeting people at festivals. its amazing. then after resting and sleeping go to the dancefloor. and go crazy again and hope that some one revives u again when u fall dhud! on the dancefloor.

Way to go, that's a good way to die early. You have no idea what sleep depravation does to your body.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

oh but I do.. I used to work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, for a year and a half, and I would usually sleep for only 2-4 hours a night, but you got to do it slowly, dont cut it from 10 hours of sleep to 2 since then youll realy colapse, but if you do it slowly, your body will adapt.. =)

For me it's easy. Going to festivals isn't just about the music, it's about the entire experience and that's why I'm not on the dancefloor all the time. Remember to check out the chilloutareas, drink some chai with unknown people, look in shops and sit somewhere in the surrounding nature and stuff like that.

lets take 5 days - first, you have to select the 30 hours that you must, no matter what, see. be realistic, and give yourself at least 15 hours of sleep, otherwise you'll just collapse (without chemical aid, and maybe even with). A catnap here and there (hammocks are a good idea), preferably near the chillout stage, some time to eat and stuff, and you see that you have about 60 hours left for whatever. Arrive at the party place a couple of days early, see the cool spots in case you'll want to chill in nature for a while, and you'll get a feeling as the party goes on as to how to spend that remaining time.

That way, you can just look at the possibilities to have more fun and not think about what you're missing. And it'll allow you enough time to just walk around and have fun - in a good festival, dancing isn't everything.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
