Although the intention behind resonantearth was not to be another CD label we had to bow for the demands of the visitors and add the possiblity to order physical CD's for those who prefer.

Of course we do it with our own twist though.

Apart from that we will make our releases available for mail order you can create your own compilation.

Select your tracks, then choose a design, font, color and text placement.
We then burn your compilation on quality CDR with on-body print and cover art and mail it out to you.

And still we ensure that the artists get $0.65 per track you buy..... so almost ten times more of your money goes to the people who deserve it.

Great concept there Mr.Spindrift.. I hope this works out nicely for you and all the artists that support your site. have you sold anything so far??

Im just curious. I might have an artist that would like to put some of his music on your site.. do you think that is possible.. what styles do you prefer or does it not matter..?

Fantastic concept!
Yes, this is what we need here.
The webdesign is good and codingskills are also solid. The layout-concept with the green colors and the fonts is a little bit confusing in my opinion, I would prefer more a minimalistic design, less is more. But its new, so I am sure you will go on and improve it. Just a feedback, take care and good Idea!

Let me first say, that I think this is an absolutely marvelous idea.

That being said, I would prefer if a lot of labels (or artists) gathered forces on a project like this. It would certainly give a bigger and probably also a much more diverse catalogue - more tracks to choose from

Sorry to anyone trying to visit the site in the last couple of days.
Just after putting the new version online there came a hurricane and I had no power for about 40hrs :\

It's not a very commercial project, and not much money involved for the artists. The main thing for me is that it's fair and enjoyable for everyone involved and visitors.
For example giving away 128k versions for free is not a good idea if you want to sell much, so the project is really for artists who feel they want to share their music.
I like to feature music that I find to be really psychedelic party music. At the moment I find mostly dark night music that fullfill that criteria but would like more morning music.
Get the artists to contact me and he can have a look at the current sales figures and the agreement and I can have a listen to his music.

I am really a developer and is not so keen on designing.
I tried a few colors and people never seem to agree what color they like....I guess the only solution is to let the user choose themself

And the font on the menu buttons is awful....they have to go.
Minimalistic designs is boring and non psychadelic IMO and I don't at all agree that "less is more"

Anyway It's nice to have a bit of fun instead when not working with cooperate projects.

I hope also that we will see more people doing similar projects.
Personally I think the problem with many of the sites selling downloads is that they are not targeted enough and feel a bit like walking in to HMV megastore.
And of course when the labels just pass on the tracks to a site they do very little to justify taking half of the money from the artists simply for submitting the track to the sites. Thats how it works with download sites right now, and that's ripp-off if you ask me.
So I hope the future is that labels set up sites themself or that the sites work as labels instead.

You make it all happen just like that

1)you have a compilation with 9 tracks you like the most also design, font, color its your favourites too

2)you have your compilation on quality CDR
and the format of the tracks is also quality not mp3s

3)money go to artists

Yes, Cd's is only available as wav, or rather PCM to be technical...ie normal audio CD's.
