Another American crappy thing to get more money! I am sure this won't effect the psy scene although it's getting quite commercial now! Who knows maybe we will have the first psyartist scandal soon hihihihihihi

Sorry, but this is nothing new and these laws have been in place for at least a decade if not more. This article gives nothing new info wise and there has been no actual change in the laws.
Someone else commented on "fair use" and under 5 seconds and all earlier. I did A LOT of research on the "time limit" issue a couple years back and it is pretty much just urban myth. Such a law never existed. As for fair use, fair use mostly only applies to editiorial (for example reviews) or education use and its use in any money making endevour cannot be invoked.

In the US there are two major types of copyrights involved that we would be dealing with. The first deals with the composition of the piece of music. There is an entirely different copyright catagory for the actually "audio recording" of a piece of music and all film dialog, etc, as an audio recorded is protected by this.
