ok...for all us south americans, and those interested in world's best soccer, our biggest continental tournament is coming to its second and most important stage.

brazillians, like always, rise with big chances of winning the trophy and getting their hands on the ticket for the big world final in tokyo in the end of the year, followed right behind by the argentinians, and other random strong build teams from around the continent (and mexico!)

liek every year, issues of games beeing played in high (really high) altitudes brings a little bit more drama into the competition, with the recent episode beeing the continental soccer organization ( commebol) refusing to agree on a FIFA recomendation of forbidding international games from beeing played above 2000, or maybe 2500 meters (not sure exactly)

anyway....im Flamengo since my 1/64 beat of life, and will always be....so i say they will be repeating the result of 81, and win both libertadores AND the final in tokyo, and thats just that...

who for you will be the winner!!?!?!?!?!?!
          un-fucking-believable

Flamengo won only once, and it's the weakest brazilian team of them all...not a chance, my candidates are.

Boca (For obvious reasons, current champion and 4 out of the last 7 editions), River (getting better), Fluminense, and America de Mexico.

In my opinion those 4 are gonna be the semifinalists, then watch out for Estudiantes de la Plata and Nacional de Montevideo.

So, since 2000...how many Brazilian teams have won the tournament brasirc ???

I agree with Justin.

However, I think Cruzeiro also has big chances of winning the competition.

And Mike, regarding your question, the final is a one-way-match, in Tokyo.

West Ham united in the UK, Barcelona in Spain, Fluminense in Brazil, San Telmo (3d. Division) in Argentina, Nacional in Uruguay, Porto in Portugal.
I lived in this countries so...that's why.

next round is comming which are your favorites.?

By the way this has been the worst tournament for mexican teams in a while I think no one of the two remaining will pass this round.

Consider the final to be the match between:

Cruzeiro (BRA) x Boca Juniors (ARG)!!

Rgds!

Unbelievable frangada from Flamengo, they've won the first tie in Mexico 4-2, have in mind that the goals scored as a visitor count twice, to lose 3-0 in Rio...talk about chickenship, that has to be the most embarrassing defeat ever, pathetic...BTW, America ended up the mexican tournament in the last position...just pathetic, but very funny...I can't stop laughing.
Cruzeiro, bye bye as well...never a real oposition against the king of southamerican football right now.
Now cry me a river guys, looking forward for what you have to say

Agreed.

As for Flamengo... shame on you. Chickenship indeed Justin.
Btw, I kindda liked it.

Cruzeiro played well the match, despite the game score.
I was actually cheering for them.

But when it comes to Tournaments, Boca will always be Boca, and the weight will always be huge!!

Lets hope Santos gets throught today!
