Most people can't resist getting the details on the latest conspiracy theories, no matter how far-fetched they may seem. At the same time, many people quickly denounce any conspiracy theory as untrue ... and sometimes as unpatriotic or just plain ridiculous.
While intelligent cynicism certainly can be healthy, though, some of the greatest discoveries of all time were initially received (often with great vitriol) as blasphemous conspiracy theories -- think of the revelation that the earth was not the center of the universe, or that the world was not flat but actually round.
What follows are some of these most shocking modern conspiracy theories that were apparently right all along:
Operation Northwoods: In the early 1960s, American military leaders drafted plans to create public support for a war against Cuba, to oust Fidel Castro from power. The plans included committing acts of terrorism in U.S. cities, killing innocent people and U.S. soldiers, blowing up a U.S. ship, assassinating Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees, and hijacking planes. The plans were all approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, but were reportedly rejected by the civilian leadership, then kept secret for nearly 40 years.
The Iran-Contra Affair: In 1985 and '86, the White House authorized government officials to secretly trade weapons with the Iranian government in exchange for the release of U.S. hostages in Iran. The plot was uncovered by Congress in 1987.
MK-ULTRA: In the 1950s to the 1970s, the CIA ran a mind-control project aimed at finding a "truth serum" to use on communist spies. Test subjects were given LSD and other drugs, often without consent, and some were tortured. At least one man, civilian biochemist Frank Olson, who was working for the government, died as a result of the experiments. The project was finally exposed after investigations by the Rockefeller Commission.
Operation Mockingbird: Also in the 1950s to '70s, the CIA paid a number of well-known domestic and foreign journalists (from big-name media outlets like Time, The Washington Post, The New York Times, CBS and others) to publish CIA propaganda. The CIA also reportedly funded at least one movie, the animated "Animal Farm," by George Orwell. The Church Committee finally exposed the activities in 1975.
Watergate: Republican officials spied on the Democratic National Headquarters from the Watergate Hotel in 1972. While conspiracy theories suggested underhanded dealings were taking place, it wasn't until 1974 that White House tape recordings linked President Nixon to the break-in and forced him to resign.
The Dreyfus Affair: In the late 1800s in France, Jewish artillery officer Alfred Dreyfus was wrongfully convicted of treason based on false government documents, and sentenced to life in prison. The French government did attempt to cover this up, but Dreyfus was eventually pardoned after the affair was made public (an act that is credited to writer Émile Zola).
The Mafia: This secret crime society was virtually unknown until the 1960s, when member Joe Valachi first revealed the society's secrets to law enforcement officials.
The Tuskegee Syphilis Study: The United States Public Health Service carried out this clinical study on 400 poor, African-American men with syphilis from 1932 to 1972. During the study the men were given false and sometimes dangerous treatments, and adequate treatment was intentionally withheld so the agency could learn more about the disease. While the study was initially supposed to last just six months, it continued for 40 years. Close to 200 of the men died from syphilis or related complications by the end of the study.
1990 Testimony of Nayirah: A 15-year-old girl named "Nayirah" testified before the U.S. Congress that she had seen Iraqi soldiers pulling Kuwaiti babies from incubators, causing them to die. The testimony helped gain major public support for the 1991 Gulf War, but -- despite protests that the dispute of this story was itself a conspiracy theory -- it was later discovered that the testimony was false. It was actually the creation of public relations firm Hill & Knowlton for the purpose of promoting the Gulf War.
my only point with this post, is to suggest that we all have very good reason for looking into this stuff, regardless of how many folks tell us we are fools for looking into 'conspiracy theories'. that is all.

it says that the past head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Bob Watson, was booted out by George Bush at the request of ExxonMobile, and replaced with a new scientist, Rajendra Pachauri, who is now being asked to resign for unscientifically denying Indian Government climate change data.
"The head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Rajendra Pachauri, is also in hot water. In November he dismissed as "voodoo science" a report for the Indian government showing that the IPCC's date for the disappearance of Himalayan glaciers was wrong. It's now clear that, actually, the IPCC's claim was voodoo science. It reproduced a speculative suggestion – that the glaciers were going to disappear by 2035 – that had not been published in any peer-reviewed journal. Pachauri's immediate dismissal of the Indian government's refutation was unscientific as well as wrong."
"Pachauri is also taking a lot of heat for his outside interests, though he insists that the allegations made against him are flat wrong. It's worth remembering that he was appointed to run the IPCC after the Bush administration had his predecessor, Bob Watson, booted out at the behest of ExxonMobil. On February 6th 2001, 17 days after George W Bush was sworn in, AG (Randy) Randol, ExxonMobil's senior environmental adviser, sent a fax to John Howard, an environmental official at the White House. He asked,
"Can Watson be replaced now at the request of the US?"
The US government immediately complied. Once it had extracted Watson, it accepted Pachauri as his replacement. The very qualities which made him acceptable to the climate change deniers in the White House – he wasn't a climate scientist, he had friendly relations with business – are now being used by climate change deniers as a stick with which to beat him."
So... ExxonMobile got the President of the United States to fire a scientist and replace him with a new scientist who turned out to be corrupt? Weird... Isn't that a conspiracy, since one or many wealthy oil tycoons got together and conspired / planned to get President Bush Jr. to replace a real climate scientist with a corrupt climate change denier?
That is literally a conspiracy / plan against real climate change science... seriously, and your article is the one that brought it to my attention...
But who owns ExxonMobile and would want to do such a thing? Who owns ExxonMobile, a company so powerful and influential that he could request that the President of the United States fires a real climate change scientist and replaces him with a corrupt climate change denier?

It seems that Standard Oil came under public scrutiny and concern due to their monopoly in the oil industry and their influence on politics and foreign policy, so due to the public's outrage, Standard Oil was forced by the Supreme Court to 'dissolve' into 34 companies. Two of these companies were Exxon and Mobile, which later merged to become Exxon Mobile.
John D Rockefeller is father of John D Rockefeller Jr, who is the father of David Rockefeller (currently living), the one that owns JP Morgan, Chase Manhattan, and countless other huge corporations, the same one that has strong influences in politically-active groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderberg Group, the same one that has spoken at United Nations conferences to advocate for population reduction due to limited resources, the same one who wrote the autobiography entitled Memoirs which admitted to planning a One World Government and thanked the mainstream media corporations for not reporting on their plans. (i bought the book to verify the quotes)

Skeptics and Conspiracy Theorists, do you see that we can agree on something? That climate change is REAL, and that there are wealthy oil tycoons that are conspiring against us to convince us that climate change is not real to boost their profits using the Climate Change Denial Movement (aka ClimateGate)?
Do you see how this is a conspiracy, since climate change is real but wealthy oil tycoons have executed a plan / conspiracy to try and convince us otherwise so that the rich can get richer? (while the poor keep getting poorer?)
I am only trying to say, I AGREE WITH YOU SKEPTICS ON THIS ONE, we are on the same team, and I think we both believe that the whole "ClimateGate" movement is not a scientific movement, but a propagandized plan / conspiracy that wealthy oil tycoons are using to make even more money.

We have to try and do something. We absolutely must, because quitting or giving up guarantees us failure. Even if the chances of success are slim, we have to try. Even if the chance of success is 1% or even 0.0001%, we have to try. Only quitting or giving up results in a 0% chance of success, and for that reason, I refuse to give up until the day that I die.
I strongly encourage each and every one of you to do everything in your power, to not only enjoy your life, but to help make this world a better place by attempting to reverse the damage that has been done in the wake of the poorly investigated event known as 9/11.
I'm not promising success, but not trying definitely promises failure.

here is a link my friend sent to me showing how HAARP has been used for various military applications outside of its 'official research applications'. Anyone that thinks HAARP is just used for 'harmless ionospheric research' definitely needs to think again:

This is a simplified explanation of why it is a FACT that the WTC buildings were demolished, for those of you who have not looked into this for yourselves.
"What can you prove with simple models of an enormously complex situation?
Let's say I tell you that I ran, by foot,
to a store (10 miles away), then
to the bank (5 more miles), then
to the dog track (7 more miles), then
to my friend's house (21 more miles), then home ...all in 2 minutes.
To disprove your story, you could present to you a simple case. I would present to you that the world's record for running just one mile is 3:43.13, or just under four minutes. So, it does not seem possible that I could have run over 40 miles in 2 minutes. i.e. It does not seem possible for me to have run 43 miles in half the time it would take the holder of the world's record to run just one mile. Even if you gave me the benefit of having run all 43 miles at world-record pace, it would not have been possible for me to have covered that distance in two minutes.
Remember, the proof need not be complicated. You don't need to prove exactly how long it should have taken me to run that distance. Nor do you need to prove how much longer it would have taken if I stopped to place a bet at the dog track. To disprove my story, you only need to show that the story I gave you is not physically possible. "
To summarize the above paragraph: These buildings cannot fall faster than the fastest possible rate of falling (a free falling billiard ball). Thus, in order to prove that these buildings were demolished, not collapsed, we only need to show that these buildings fell impossibly fast. Similarly, if the world's fastest runner can run a mile in 3 minutes, one would consider it impossible for any non-athlete to run a mile this fast, or even close to this fast. In other words, if I said that I could run a mile in 3 minutes, the same time as the world's fastest runner, you guys would be able to know that I am lying because I am not a professional runner, and therefore, I cannot possibly run a mile as fast as the world's fastest runner. Now, let's compare these WTC buildings (a very slow and heavy non-athletic person), to a free falling billiard ball (the world's fastest runner).
So, it takes a billiard ball 9.22 seconds to hit the ground if it is dropped from the top of the WTC buildings.
Since the WTC buildings had to wrench through TONS and TONS of steel, concrete, and aluminum structure on their way down, one would expect that their collapse times should be much much longer than 9.22 seconds...
...so let's compare the uninhibited billiard ball that is free falling, to these towers that had to twist, break, and crumble as they fell. As I said, we should expect a collapse time much larger than 9.22 seconds if these buildings fell naturally due to a combination of airplane impacts, jet fuel (kerosene), weakened steel, and gravity.
Page 305 of the 9/11 Commission Report states, "At 9:58:59, the South Tower collapsed in ten seconds, .... The building collapsed into itself, causing a ferocious windstorm and creating a massive debris cloud." (Chapter 9.)
The August Fact Sheet (Answers to Frequently Asked Questions) by NIST states, "NIST estimated the elapsed times for the first exterior panels to strike the ground after the collapse initiated in each of the towers to be approximately 11 seconds for WTC 1 and approximately 9 seconds for WTC 2." (Question #6.)"

So there you have it, these buildings fell virtually uninhibited, nearly as fast as a billiard ball being dropped from the top of the buildings. In other words, if these massive steel buildings were to race a free falling billiard ball to the ground, one of the buildings beat the billiard ball to the ground, and the other was only 0.78 to 1.78 seconds behind the free falling billiard ball!
This is impossible considering all of the resistance the steel, concrete, and aluminum would have provided, UNLESS an enormous amount of extra energy was added to the buildings to completely remove their support structures, which would then allow the buildings to fall as fast as the free falling billiard ball.
I will let you draw your OWN conclusions from this simple comparison.
