Personally, I don't like Talamasca, Deedrah, Astrix, Ticon and many others.

Some of their tracks make me feel sick when I hear them, becuase you can hear that they're talented but don't do what they can in order to make money. And that's sad.
...becuase you can hear that they're talented but don't do what they can in order to make money.
Let me get it right - you can hear by only listening to the music that it is made only for money?

If music is made only for the money, it is NOT made in trance.

But yes, you CAN here commercial elements. Using the Star Wars theme in your track as a CHEAP*SS gimmic is commercial. Deedrah - Liquid Skies (GMS 2nd Remix) is so obviously commercial, that I had to stop the track in the middle the first time I heard it, and the next time I played it - I found out that I could already guess what was going to happen for the rest of the track. There are less obvious examples than this, but don't tell me that you DIDN'T recognize these commercial elements and many others (Beverly Hills Cop anyone?).

and from the other hand....
just B-coz its commercialism than its bad???
try 2 remember the day`s when u first heared banzi & riktam music... when it still was a new style, nobody said that its crap. so just B-coz other artists sarted coping it - it makes it bad?
i Personally dont like the gms sound and style... but it dosnt makes it bad.
so i think... not every thing that iscommercialized is bad music, i sill think that its a matter of taste and mood.
just B-coz its commercialism than its bad?
Exactly. Commercial can be very good sometimes, otherwise it won't be commercial. Music sells because it is good.
I found out that I could already guess what was going to happen for the rest of the track.
So? You want to be surprised all the time? You want to hear only new, innovating and unpredictable music?
if someone does some music that just "goes" those days like tiesto so it is obvious for money
Ok. I'm an artist. I hear a certain type of music, which some might call it commercial. I like this music. It's good. I start making the same type of music, because I like it. I don't care about the money. Does that mean that my music is commercial and bad?

I know its sound very exciting to do some tracks on your home computer and then play it to your grandmather and see her dancing on the ceiling, but if u want someone else other than your family to hear your music u have to advertise ,and if u want to be successful i have a good advice to u -  hire Britney Spears's agent:)

A) By Beverly Hill Cop I meant the track, not the movie.

B) Commercialism is working by a tested formula in order to make a "sure hit". Therefor, it limits innovation. Innovation IMO is vital to psychedelia, which is what I want to hear in my music. Therefor, when I say that commercialism ruins the music for me, I MEAN IT, I don't just say it.

C) Yes, I do want stuff to be surprising and new all the time. I know it's a lot to ask, but I don't like my favorite tracks to be ruined by loads of cheap immitations.

D) Copying Tiesto is a sign of commercial thinking, and disagreeing with that is either innocence or denial. Don't get philosophical in the one place that there is a concensus here :)

kept it (relatively :)) short...

i dont understand why u guys are argueing about this sunject all the time.
commercialisim is a part of music. i think every artist would like to be recognized worldwide and sell million of record. the question is how u do it.
u can stay with your style and hope someday that style will be mainsteam and u will make some money out of your hard work.
or u can change ur style and go towards the mainstream.
a great example i think is infected's music. i think that "the gathring" was a killer album. i really love this album and i still hear it @least once aweek. but with time they started making other music more "easy" more catchy "b.p.empire"
now ive seen million of threads about them and how they have gone commercial way but they are artists this is their job they need 2 make money and look, they have sold gold!
i dont think gms have changed their style since their first cd and i do belive that people loved them when they first came out with their jumpy tracks and cool sound. but now people are saying that its not music. i dont belive any of u guys have the right to say that its not music. thats someone's creation if u like or not.
and stop crying all the time about commercialism, if u dont like the music dont listen 2 it!
u can stay with your style and hope someday that style will be mainsteam and u will make some money out of your hard work.
And then you will be called commercial because you make money out of your music.
and stop crying all the time about commercialism, if u dont like the music dont listen 2 it!
The problem with some people is that they listen not to good music, but to not-commercial music.
