is there any organization like the RIAA for psytrance artists and labels?
doubt it, atleast i'm not aware of one..
if yes whats it called?
should be called mmwtm (money mongers want their money) =)
if no what are you waiting for?

Ofcourse all the serious labels are members in associations that administrate the copyrights of music recordings, such as NCB and BIEM. In most of the countries its illegal to print records without being a member of such an organization. |

RIAA is hated almost universally ! By artists, by customers, almost everyone except the few rich bastards who own the major record companies.
I don't think we need that !

without mp3, i would have never discovered this GENRE named PSYTRANCE and i would never ever have spend 500$ in album and 12"
I think there is many artist out there that should thank Mp3! Without mp3 nobody would have known them!
Take exemple from Nuclear Ramjet over here in canada! They want us to spread Mp3 of there music, they want to be listen and asked for LIVE ACT around the world! Even there, they still manage to get all the Album and 12" to sell backorder in 2-3 weeks! You can get all there album from the Website in 192 high quality! You even got some unrelease stuff for there next album!
Remember, less then 1% simply LEECH and never ever buy album. Everyone buy album one day or another, and judging by the Online Shop around the net... everything get out of order... so Mp3 spread the unavaible music and create a demand!
so basicly, i say SHUT the fuck up with your Anti-mp3 croisade...

But what can you do about it ? Some people believe that by continuously whining about P2P on this board, thousands of people not even reading it are going to spontaneously uninstall soulseek and start buying 42 psytrance CDs/week each, thus making them rich !

imHo mp3 just made this (actually) all genre(s) of music cheaper than it is. trance is a pure music, and as the release groups says, "nothing beats the original cd quality"..
mp3 is like tasting the music, buying the real cds is tha sh!t =) |

MP3 may be lesser quality - but nobody's able to tell the difference with a CD...

Don't take me wrong, Im not against mp3, as i stated b4 in this forum, but i really disagree that "nobody" can tell diference from cd...
Maybe you can't if you listen both separatelly, but just for a test, put a wav track in mp3, and listen to both, one after the other, and I'm sure you'll notice the diference...
Everytime i export my tracks and put them in mp3 to upload them, i get impressed with how much they loose, and this is after being hours working the track, so i definetelly know how it should sound... |

Well I'm willing to do a contest ! I could put a few extracts of our albums to download:
1) In WAV, just cut from the original soundfiles
2) In WAV, but encoded in MP3 320kbps then saved back as WAV.
Then people can vote as to which is which and we'll see the results...

If you loose quality by ripping your CD into Mp3, "yuo suck at teh internet"
If you think you can make a living out of electronic music, "yuo suck at life"
only 5000$/h DJ and 52 release a year Artist can live out of there music! My guess is that every Psy artist out here has a normal respectable Job with a salary, they do music has a Hobbies. You know, this is the SANEST thing to do.
The idea of making a living out of Psytrance is kinda stupide hahahaha, you gotta sell like 50 000 album to start making some money and still it's less then a minimum wage job!
Get real guys... I'm intrigued what job our Psy Artist are doing in real life!
